I had a tough day today as I got into somewhat of a fight with a friend of mine. We've been through a roller coaster of emotions for the past several months and I hadn't gotten a chance to really speak with her. There has been a lot of pain, and hurt, and dishonesty. Her and her sister are supposed to be two of my bridesmaids for my wedding that is in June, but it looks like now, they may step down. I was hurt and sad, but we had a great talk on the phone. I'm giving all of this to God because it is the only thing I know to do. I still want them both there, with all my heart because I love them so much. I was inspired to write this bit of poetry, as my way of giving it over to the One who knows far more than I about this situation. I know He will take care of it and that He works all things for the good of those who love Him.

Let It Go

Let it go, let it fall off of your shoulders

Let it rise, high above where mortal hands cannot reach

Close your eyes, let the rain come down upon you

Let it shine, that light that’s deep inside you

Be not afraid, of trials that may come your way

Be strong, the God who loves you is standing firm

He will not forsake you, never leave or disgrace you

Let Him take, everything you’re feeling now

Let Him heal, the brokenness inside you

Let Him fill, the empty spaces in your heart

Let Him hold you when you’re falling apart

When you can’t see which direction

Look up toward the heavens

And cry out to the God who loves you so

He will show you where to go

So let it go…
