Take it! take it all! haha I think my problem is portion size/irregular meal times
Sometimes I have like 2 small meals and a big meal in a day, or a meal big enough for like 3 people in one sitting xD
Depends on what my budget is like haha, that and I haven't done much for the last year or so :)

i rly wish there was a way to just take fat out and kinda

Hmmmm. I know the ensure drinks are good to help with that, but kinda pricey. I think making your own smoothies will be just as good :) Yumyum smoothies XD Eating whole grains is a good idea, though. I eat wheat bread, whole grain pastas... Increasing calorie intake without eating junk food is really your best bet.

I've got a pretty high metabolism myself so I know a quite a bit about this! If you can, I would make an appointment with a dietician, and keep a log of what you eat every day.

I manage without protein supplements (mainly because the aftermath of eating those is never fun for me) and my diet actually mainly consists of protein anyways.

    Here's a few tips:
    1) Fiber is your friend. Things like nuts, whole grains, and rice when eaten regularly can really help you maintain a healthier weight. Beans are also a great source, but they can be hard on some folks digestive tracts.

    2) Snacks!! Eat smaller meals, and more often. Nuts , again, make for a great snack and have the added benefit of being a good protein. Oatmeal can be just as good though. Out of habit, I keep a bowl of whatever snack I have on my desk while I'm working. Usually, it's popcorn.

    3) Eat more lean than fatty. Shrimp, fish, chicken- it doesn't matter what type of lean meat you're eating, just so long as you eat 2 lean servings of meat for every 1 fatty one. I personally enjoy grilled mackerel or steamed tilapia.

    4) Give your body fuel to burn. Carbohydrates are burned in place of protein when available, which is great because that means it will save the protein instead. Good, healthy sources of carbs come from grains and fruits.

    5) Exercise! Only a little, every day, and it will help keep your metabolism steady. I'd suggest walking for 30 mins (or running if you'd prefer) every other day.

    6) Portion control. Don't eat large meals in one sitting- the goal is to constantly supply energy, not overwhelm your system. The more you eat in a single sitting, the more "excess" your body has. In most cases, it turns to fat, but in mine it winds up either being disposed of or it's all burnt up instead. This is pretty much just rule #2 again, but more as a reminder for meal times where you're sitting down.

A regular portioned plate for me is usually:
    1/4 lb meat
    1/2 to 1 cup vegetables
    1/2 to 1 cup carbs
But I have a large appetite. Eat until you're full, but learn when to save it for later.

That's about it! Keeping track of what and how much you eat can help you determine your habits and change it so you can keep weight on rather than lose it accidentally. :D

ooh thank you this is supes helpful! i don't really like nuts or seeds though, what else would you suggest in place of those? pru and i were looking up and i found peanut butter with grain toast is good, plus bananas which i've already put on the to-do list for shopping~

      my mom does want to take me to a nutritionist/a doctor, but, she hasn't been in the best of health lately, and when she can, she doesn't want to and i have no other means of transportation, so it's difficult and why i want to at least get some advice from others instead of sitting around and waiting, it seems like a better approach to start somewhere;

and also, i get full like, really fast.. i eat slow but i get full quickly so it's hard, i'm certain with my swallowing problem that my stomach shrunk considerably too which really sucks, but i've always been a picky eater, and get full quickly.. my dinners kind of vary but it's the largest meal in the day for me, i have either waffles or cereal for breakfasts, and try to have them, but by then lunchtime rolls around and i don't have it because i'm still full from breakfast since i wake up around lunchtime lmao;; and when my mom cooks, it's usually chicken, salisbury steaks, stuff like that with veggies like broccoli, mashed potatoes, and corn, i do also live on pizza types of food too and just.. anything i can throw into a toaster oven to hold myself over for the night when she doesn't feel like cooking which is like, really recently since she's getting sicker hgh which may be why i'm feeling the effects of this losing weight thing even more.

i would say i walk about that much on campus, so i think i'm?? fine for that, but i'll walk a little more during my breaks on monday uvu

Bananas with peanut butter are excellent, and if you don't like nuts/seeds they make other nut butters (sunflower butter is tasty!) And you could always make your own in a blender. Chocolate with nuts in it or peanut butter (like Reeses) are great snacks too- chocolate can even make you feel hungrier. Eggs are high in protein as well, and hard boiled eggs can last up to a week or so in the fridge. :D

Milkshakes are great too, especially since you can sub yogurt in place of ice cream.

I'd suggest cooking up a whole box of plain pasta (whatever kind you like) and keeping it in the fridge to use as a quick meal thing later- just make sure you rinse the starch off the noodles when they're done cooking & before you stick em in there. I usually heat mine up with some olive oil, salt, and feta cheese lol. You can even just pre-cook rice for the same "easy meal" thing.

If you're not hungry for lunch, I'd suggest having a smaller breakfast with snacks in between, medium sized lunch and maybe two snacks between then and maybe a less large dinner. Luckily, the size of your stomach doesn't mean you're stuck to just one large meal due to fullness- snacking means you can eat more food overall rather than eating til fullness and not eating the rest of the day.

I only stretched my stomach out cause I felt like I was hungry all the time, but I'm super active (nearly 5 hours intermediate exercise weekly) so it should be fine for you just to stick to small meals all through the day. If you wanted to stretch out your stomach, it's simply a matter of eating larger and larger portions. You might feel a little uncomfortable at first, but assuming you increase your exercise routine, it should help immensely.

I only work out so much cause I'm trying to build muscle weight since that's easier to keep on lol. With my kidney issues, last time I got sick I lost nearly 20lbs in two weeks. Super scary.

OH yeah and if you like them, Carnation instant breakfast drinks have a large amount of protein in them! The chocolate ones are my fave, but I usually eat toast with fruit and some sausage with one.

if you're still looking into protein bars, Cliff bars and Larabars are good. Both taste really good. Cliff bars tend to be about a dollar, and come in a wide range of flavors from blueberry to peanut to chocolate. Larabars are about the same price (if you're willing to look) and are made from only fruit and nuts, and taste very good (especially the banana bread one, it literally tastes like a slice of banana bread)
