my current life with bullet points by EmilyThePenguin

NONE OF THAT BULLCRAP. The internet likes summaries anyway

  • been gone on a band trip. it was horrible and I never want to play for that long again. But... I had fun - surprisingly - at a dance and I got to miss an extra day of school since the bus arrived at 4:30 A.M.

  • making up homework from said band trip isn't any fun

  • anxiety attacks are horrible

  • I am going to the hospital weekly for said anxiety attacks and my hearing disorder

  • had someone trace my art on DA (thanks, Deviantart)

  • Valentine's day is lonely and horribly saddening, but I got flowers and that's nice <:} (thanks Alex)

  • yes I am working on commissions, but as one can see... I am rather busy

  • I've hardly seen any of season 4 of ponies and that's honestly okay with me

wow this is bummer here are some positives:

  • I'm making a huge giant squid to cuddle when needed

  • I get to do my senior project on fursuiting

  • I'm still waiting on the last payment for the commission drive, then I can donate all that money to Child's play <3

YEAH.

now I saved you a bit of time without typing full paragraphs

    Hearing disorder and anxiety attacks? Take care of yourself! I found out the other day I have a fungus on my eardrum (and I have hearing loss in that ear anyway), so I kinda understand I guess. Stupid humidity.
    Where did you go for the band trip?

    • Link

      yeah... I've been "blessed" with the lovely rare hearing disorder called misophonia :I long story short my life is a living hell thanks to how my brain interprets the sound of eating and chewing gum

      also holy crap that's horrible!! at least that can be taken care of, yeah?

      and we drove 7 hours north to this town called Kalispell for an all-state playing thing... seriously, it was miserable. No one with braces... or just no one EVER should have to play the same 5 horribly difficult songs for that long.

        I'm still getting treated for the ear thing. It'll take another week and a half. The doctor tried sucking it out, but I got vertigo and got sick. He said it was difficult to try to get out that way because it's alive and attached to my eardrum (gross), so he gave me ear drops to kill it. It's gross talking about it. I'm a really big germaphobe, so learning about something like that made me feel almost paranoid. :/ Misophonia sounds interesting, and I've never heard of it. I remember feeling that way towards some sound as a kid, but I don't remember what it was. I think it had something to do with sleep paralysis though. Like.. maybe if I heard a sound similar to my hallucinations in real life, I'd freak out. Or something. Hmmm...
        In terms of the band thing, I never liked doing those things. After a while I just quit going to them because they just bored me and I typically hated whoever I was sitting next to. Also playing the same song over and over ugh...

          oh yuck, that's horrible.

          and yeah, misophonia is only recently being discovered... there was an ABC morning thing, as well as a spot on 20/20. To sum it up, these sounds give me such bad anxiety attacks that hearing it either makes me run away and cry or get really aggressive. no matter what my heart races and I get really shaky..

          it's funny because I actually LOVE band. I love marching band the most, and I was section leader of the trumpets this year c:

            I hate marching band. I love symphonic band. It's because I like playing French horn more than mellophone. And that's great you got section leader. :>

    Oh dear, I'm right there with you on anxiety attacks. I used to get them every other day, and after several years of sorting through random issues, it's been controlled down to heavily populated places (holiday shopping, flea markets, driving in heavy traffic, etc.) It really sucks, but you can learn to handle it better as you grow older. A good counselor does wonders, for that matter!

    Anyway, just wanted to wish you well and let you know that I'm in no hurry for my icon. Don't push yourself too hard, and give yourself time to unwind between stressful events. :) Also, I haven't watched much of Season 4 either, and I'm not really that broken up about it. x3 Definitely plan to get to watching them eventually though.

    Take care!

      that must be tough.. mine are triggered by my hearing disorder, so.. I'm not sure what else to say <:{

      I appreciate your patience with this, I really do <:} if you even like, I JUST NOW (yes, just now) made a little spreadsheet about current commissions if you want to take a peek~

      I've been a bit burnt out on ponies for a while now, it's all Deviantart expects of me, unfortunately.

      but once again, thanks for your care <:}

        Hey, no worries!

        I hate that for artists, especially those who work so hard to please their fanbase; when people expect a certain something out of them all the time, and when they don't deliver, they whine or pout. It makes something that should be an enjoyable hobby feel more like work. >.<

        Cool! I'm perfectly fine waiting it out. I just hope to have it before FWA if possible, but if it takes longer I won't mind being patient.

          I mean... I'm very thankful for the fame that ponies have brought me! They really kickstarted my 500+ watcherbase there and gave me quite a few views as well.

          but... it's so disappointing when I post something I care lots about that isn't a pony... and to see it go unnoticed.,.. it's a big bummer :{

          I can see the icon getting done within the next few days. This week for sure!

          • Link

            I completely understand that, mhm. Just keep doing what makes you happy, though! Don't let the demand burn you out.

            Alright, that'd be awesome! Just give me a nudge by note or shout sometime.

    AAAG that's the opposite of me ;o; everyone in symphony band is really snobby to the marchers! <:C
