Pricing Help?? by Incisors

I want to start taking some rough sketch/colored/painted commissions
I would be taking

Fullbody

And headshots

If I could figure out a base price for fullbodies I could probably figure the rest out from there.

What would you be willing to pay? ;o; What seems reasonable?

    Just want to preface by saying this is my estimates so it's not the standard in any way haha.

    Fullbody: $7 for sketch, $15 for colored, $20-25 for painted.
    Headshots: $5 for sketch, $10 for colored, $15 for painted.

    I wouldn't go any lower than these anyways. Of course it also depend on how easy/quick all these are for you plus how many commissioners you get (if you don't get many, consider lowering prices or advertising more - alternatively if you're getting a lot of interest then you may try upping your prices).

      Thank you for your feedback! It was helpful

    depends on how long they take, and if you are comfortable underpricing yourself like most people on art sites tend to??

      I unfortunately can't charge by hour, because I'm a very slow worker (which is something I'm working on getting better with, but for the moment I have to base prices more on how well things sell)
      I think that underpricing at first is probably a good way to gauge interest before raising prices but I'm also aware of how underpricing effects percieved value. Mmman it's such a conundrum

        Well in that case, I say for a fullbody sketch you should at least charge 18, 35 for the painted. It's majorly undercharging but it's also above what a lot of people do, which can somewhat help with perceived value.
        Personally I tried undercharging for years and that didn't really effect the interest level, so I just decided to charge something more realistic.

          Thank you for your advice ;o;
          My watchers have been pretty dead lately and I'm sadly a little desperate for money right now (and so am one of those people you were talking about, I worry), so I am still starting out a good bit below those prices, but if there is interest I won't be afraid to steadily raise them.
          I really appreciate your comments

    Figure out how long they take and price accordingly, like a rough by-the-hour thing. Underpricing won't help you in the long run.

      Underpricing hopefully won't be a long run thing, but. Lately when I think I have things priced reasonably there is absolutely no interest and that's unsettling. Thank you though ;o;
