PLEASE TO BE INCREASING THE DROP RATE FOR RATHALOS PLATES AND OTHER STUPIDLY RARE ITEMS THIS IS RIDICULOUS

i am responsible for endangering the entire rath species at this rate

SO MUCH SHIT i have three damn rathIAN plates but no los ones >8C

farming lao shan is more fun than this

    Which one are you playing?
    It seems that there are item rate tables set during character creation. I ended up with a table on MH3U that causes more common items to be dropped less frequently and rarer items to be dropped more frequently. So I get lost of stuff like plates and spikes, but not as often scales. It's pretty FREAKING annoying. Lol. I have lots of bumble pumpkins for the bumble pumpkin armor (can't remember the name for it now), because of all the pink loins I get from the hunting ground town-hunt-thingies (I get 2 most of the time!), but not enough of the more common items I need. :P

      i am playing freedom unite aka HARDCORE HUNTIN and i just need one stinkin plate for the lao shan cannon so i can murder some rajang

        Oh gosh, MHFU was a pain in the ass. I swear it was the hardest one to date. That's why I called it MHFuckU. XD
        Yeah, it's probably your item rate table. That can happen. After like a month of trying to get the narga armor on MHFU I gave up, because I got so sick of trying to get the parts I needed. AND I was playing with 2 other people... :/

          I HAVE BEEN DOING EVERYTHING POSSIBLE like breaking his everything and capturing him but NOPE not a one

          i have also accidentally murdered him half a dozen times... AND ONCE EVEN FUCKING RATHIAN KILLED HIM WITH A TAILSWIPE BEFORE I COULD TRANQ HIM HFGDYDHDGDGFG

          i will never get to narga, old jungle khezu is handing me my ass so much T_T

            Okay, try this: run in and chop off his tail, carve it, and if he doesn't drop one, bail the mission and start over. If he does, take it and nuke him. We used to call these 'plate runs.' Lol.
            High rank Los in MHFU has like %12 drop on his tail and like %6 on his capture, so don't worry about capturing him unless you want to try for a second one after you get one off of his tail (Low and Village is like %3 tail, %2 capture :[ ).

              i talked to my brother about that and he was all "lol no u don't get plates from his tail" I AM DAMN SURE YOU DO YOU so now I know.

              I haven't got a very high hunter rank (I'm still a babby hr 2) because there's just me playing and i have no frands to hunt with /sobsob so I will have to do the tail runs on the troublesome pair quest until i get it.

              so. many. dead monsters.

              I may have also spent forever trying to get a stupid iodrome skull to make my snow venom + (I've had the stupid snow venom set since i could make it).

              AND YES THAT KHEZU GODDAMNIT I need to get pale khezu steaks and thunder sacs and tan hides to make the true devil slicer and upgrade my khezu shock blade but this guy is seriously murdering me. I even hit him with two sets of large barrel bomb+'s and he took a million years to die... then again I have been gunning him with the teostra artillery and death stench set. I need the rath plate for the lao shan cannon but THAT IS A WORK IN FOREVER PROGRESS.

              I need to kill lao shan again to get more claws so i can bump my armourcharm into an armourtalon to match my powertalon and then I WILL BE SLIGHTLY HARDER TO KILL. Slightly.

              I love monster hunter but oh my god freedom unite is HELL. HELL I SAY.

                Haha, I looked it up and I was actually right on my percentages! http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/Rathalos_Carves
                There's a list of all the carves from the los in all the games so far. The wiki is really extensive. I use it a lot for 3U. Every time my friends come over to play we pull it up and make a monster "shopping list" so we can plan out what we want to fight that day. XD

                3U is so much easier and a lot more fun. If you have a 3DS I suggest getting it for sure. The water battles are weird to get used to, but fun once you do!
                Then again, maybe 3U is so easy for me because I played FU for so long. Haha. We even started a "hard mode" in 3U by choosing a weapon and sticking to just that weapon type through the whole game. Though, I guess we shouldn't brag too much, because all of the people we know who didn't play FU still think 3U is pretty tough. Sooo, consider it training? XD
