has this site turned pure furry, or can non-furry artists still make it? by Vine
i've been thinkin' about comin' back to this site, just because i have this natural craving to be a part of an art community (and sites like DA are dumb, and sites like CGhub and ConceptArt make me uncomfortable because i don't think i'm good enough to be there). i've been making a nest at tumblr, but since it's not solely dedicated to art it feels pretty diluted
this site has a nice layout and what seems like an active community, but there's always been an overwhelming amount of furries, and even moreso since the whole FA thing
nothin' wrong with furries, but it doesn't make it very friendly for non-furry artists, you know? and i don't draw furry stuff anymore, mostly demons, ocs and fanart
so, is there any chance of non-furry artists being able to not get COMPLETELY ignored here, or is everyone chasin' tail?

yeaaaah, i'm really considering it. but it'll be a lot of work to upload everything i've drawn since my last post here, so i just wanna make sure it won't all be for nothin', you know?-
I guess I just mean that it would be good if you posted too so that other artists that do humanoids aren't 'scared off by all the furries' haha. If all the humanoid artists are scared off, then there's going to be no human art. :c

I don't even show my commission gallery on my front page and I still get a fair amount of attention so I say post whatever your heart desires :D -
Feel free to post what you want. I don't think weasyl has ever been pure anything?

i'm well aware that weasyl tried to market itself as a general art site, however, since a large portion of its users are furries, those people are, in most cases, more likely to give attention to other furry artwork, making it not so friendly for non-furry artists. i've seen it happen on other budding art sites, so i don't find it unreasonable to say it's happening again here. so while i know i'm allowed to upload my stuff, i'm just curious if this place isn't too far furry, and if non-furry artists aren't completely ignored.

Well then, I don't have much experience on other sites I'm pretty new to this whole branching out thing. But I guess it's something you'd have to judge for your self if it's too far gone or not. sorry.

I upload nothing but humanoids. It does bug me though that furries seemed to have taken it over though. I'd like to see more human art so I can find more artists to commission. Please share your work.

No matter what the admin team says, Weasyl's going to be predominantly furry. But I think it's been a much better crowd here than on other sites, and don't believe you have to make a bunch of furry stuff to do well here. Part of that, though, requires you to give it a shot. ;)
For what it's worth I'd love to see you post more of your stuff!

I like art in general. Furry or not, and I think this community isn't going to give you any trouble if you decide to only post non-furry art. :3

Nah, son. Post! I like your art, furry or not. It would be nice to get some nonfurs around here just for some variety. My friend here Atomictroops isn't a furry, either.
