Project Community! [For weasyl art project/event brainstorming!] by Jotaku

Anyway, I went ahead and made a forum post for my previous journal:

I've dubbed it Project Community, and I highly encourage those to post on it who would like to brainstorm/work together to create community projects and events to better help Weasyl not only gain a stronger sense of community, but also grow as one.
I've included a couple things that were advertised to me earlier as well! (Including the Comment Project, Badge Exchange, and a raffle). And will probably get to posting weekly to monthly [Project Community] news journals regarding projects going on around the site.
AAAAHHH PLS THO I would really like to discuss working out a Weasyl Fantasia or something jflksd;jf
Also I cannot reply to my own thread until someone else does SNORTS

You can put me on the list of people willing to help advertise for sure. I also know my art isn't superawesomesauce or anything but I could probably offer up sketches and/or smaller traditionally colored pieces (headshots, colored sketches, etc.) as prizes for some events. At least, I wouldn't mind being asked by individuals seeking artists. : ) I've been on plenty of online art sites but have never really thought of them as a true community (or maybe I'm just generally too shy, lol), so the prospect of something more along those lines is appealing!

Sadly I dont have anything weasyl related projects to offer atm then my Iron Artist challenge
^_^. I am redirecting ppl form fa to my weasyl to read all about it, so I hope that helps :P My weasyl only raffle recently ended, but I might offer more raffles in the future. Just doing the best I can to send as much as possible peeps to weasyl!!! We can do it!!! Weasyl go weasyl go!I will try to brainstorm about ideas and share them in your thread when I have them :P! You already mention a few good ones :3

I used to be a community moderator/ volunteer on deviantart and featured daily deviations. I know weasyl does not have a fancy thumbnail sharing ability, but in my experience, doing journals featuring artists and artworks you find of interest is a huge help in building community spirit. Artists love to have their work featured and seen. :)

The con badge thing is a real nice idea, but maybe we can get something started that's similar but for icons or little portraits, or the like. I for one like to enter into secret santa like stuff and drawing people's characters, but making the badge is a bit much for me. I don't have the supplies to make the badges, we do have to do that right? Am I understanding the conbadge exchange correctly? You make a badge and send it off? If you don't know that's cool, I will ask them. I just thought I would ask and throw the similar idea out there at the same time.

I do not know, as I'm not affiliated with the Badge Exchange and have never done badges. So you'll have to ask them!
But I can put down the art exchange down for a suggestion, and if you would like to try and get it rolling through the forums as something or organize with other users, then by all means do so! :D-
Hrrrmmmm... I don't know... seems like a hefty responsibility, don't know if I can handle that. Or have the time for it... I guess I will talk to the ones that do the badge thing and see what they have to say.

Okay, the fantasia sounds awesome. How would we start that up? I'd also be interested in helping out on projects, though I'm a bit lost in most of this.

I have never participated in either the dA or Pixiv Fantasia, so mostly I'm looking for people who HAVE that can tell me more about how the events went down. Otherwise, I am open for ideas/suggestions of course!Pretty much, if you wanna help with things right now, definitely recommend joining the thread and just trying to help brainstorm/provide input. if you see an idea you really like and wanna try organizing, that would be awesome too!
