Something that's been on my mind as of late has been other lines of income.
Since it's the beginning of the year, website and logo jobs have dried up a bit and I rarely (if ever) do commissions. I'd love to say my books sales are great but yeah... not "Help Pay the Bills" great just yet. So I'm thinking a little outside the box for me here. I'm thinking about Adoptables.
I do a bit of character design when I'm bored and when have the chance. Heck, that's pretty much the how I ended up with my last book. I'm kinda' wondering if this is something folks might want from me.
The deal I'm thinking of is pretty simple:
Again, I'm just spitballing ideas here. Being a designer, I'm no stranger to making things like this for other folks. The difference is those where paid gigs and most of those were logo or site designs. This would just be a new deal for me. Although I've seen others rock this format for a while now, I never thought to try it myself. I've also never bought a pre-existing design before so I'm clueless as to that aspect of it, too. I'm coming at this thing so fresh, you'd swear my nickname was Minty. = P
So what do you folks think: Good idea? Bad idea?

I'm going to keep an eye on this journal to see what others say. I've never done adoptables but I'm curious too.
