Tonight is the final battle. It is everyone's dream on this journey to face the Elite Four and come out victorious. There have been many deaths along the way, many many deaths, almost an entire box full of my fallen friends. Some had so much love poured into them, some I barely knew at all. On this day I, Harlow, hope that I will come out of that castle chapel thing victorious. My friends have been pet, fed, and played with to their heart's content and this is my home. Roserade is the only survivor from my very first wondertrade. She is level 71 and I love her to pieces. She is my longest living friend and I only hope to share in the spoils of victory with her. Charizard is next, having lived way longer than expected and staying with me through 2 would have been deaths, I worry greatly about him, but I'm so happy he is here. Machamp was such a surprise wondertrade. I knew he had what it takes to make it as far as he has made it with me, but his No Guard is both a strength and a weakness. Mienshao has been a lot more useful than I ever expected. He's such a wonderful Pokemon, I never would have thought that I would ever use such a late evolution Pokemon. Ninetales with her drought and her wonderful stamina to take hits... She has been so helpful to me. Lastly, Furfrou, the late addition. I had no intention of ever having this dog on my team. Her defense amazes me. Her move pool is pitiful. I hope with all the training and love I've put into her that she makes it through to the end.

And it begins. Randomly rolling for who to begin fighting (1, steel, 2, fire, 3, dragon, 4, water)... and it's steel! I stand tall with Ninetales at the front of my line. Klefki our first, level 63. Drought paired flamethrower, it never stood a chance. Out next is Probopass as I switch to Machamp. He's also level 63, all to my 71s. Being faster, Dynamic Punch lands, his sturdy peeves me, but that confusion leaves him smacking himself for a kill. Aegislash. 65. Charizard is out. It's still sunny. Though he may have protected himself once, Flamethrower wrecks it. Scizor. Charizard stays out. Faster than the metal bug and still under drought, Flamethrower calls the win. One down, the easiest battle by typeage for my team. There are 4 left.

Random numbers once more... (1, fire, 2, dragon, 3, water) 1 once more, fire time. Furfrou heads the battle scene. And we start with Pyroar. Surfing brings it down to half, followed by Noble Roar. This puts Furfrou down enough to be unable to knock it out, and is hit by a Flamethrower. As per usual, the full restore comes out as Furfrou headbutts it past half. Another headbutt and it still can't be put down! Luckily Pyroar flinches. And the full restore makes its way out again. Furfrou is knocked down to the red with another Flamethrower. Switching to Machamp he's hit by a Flamethrower that does barely anything. Noble Roar'd and Wake Up Slap brings it out. Talonflame. Charizard makes his appearance. I use a hyper potion on Furfrou. Talonflame Brave Birds. One Fly, on a crit, takes the bird out. Torkoal. Furfrou comes back out to surf. 4 times the damage and the thing still stands! Furfrou dodges a stone edge and surfs her way to a kill. Chandelure is next. Furfrou stays. Sucker Punching her way to victory, but receiving a burn. Fire is kill. 3 are left.

Random numbers for dragon and water and... it's water. Roserade is at the lead, I fear greatly for her, but I have faith. Clawitzer is out first. I Petal Dance with faith on a ohko. It works. Starmie is coming out so I switch to Furfrou. Headbutting leads to flinching and proving I am faster. I Headbutt again, taking a Psychic. Sucker Punch'd to death. Barbaracle. I switch to Mienshao. Fake Out first. Razor Shell does major damage after Drain Punch doesn't lead to victory. Full Restored and Drain Punched him to the red again. He full restores a second time and I simply drain punch him for a crit and kill. Gyarados. I send Furfrou out. He Dragon Dances. I'm scared. He gets two more off before I get him Headbutt'd down to yellow. I Sucker Punch and it lands. He's in the red. I get hit with a Waterfall and it sends me down to the low yellow. One more Sucker Punch and he is kill. 2 Left.

Dragon. I lead with Machamp. I have Charizard with the only dragon slaying Dragon Claw but I don't dare send him first. Dragalge out first. Of course. I still Dynamic Punch it for confusion and end up getting poisoned. Strength doesn't kill and she full restores. Machamp cures his poison. He ends up getting poisoned by Dragalge's Sludge Bomb, which brings him down to red. I full restore myself and so does she. Strength, sludge bomb, strength, sludge bomb, strength and kill. Altaria. Charizard comes out. Dragon Claw for Cotton Gaurd. Dragon Claw crits for a kill. Noivern. Charizard stays out. 2 Dragon Claws and it's dead with a cheap Super Fang from it in between. Druddigon. I send out Mienshao. Hit with a Dragon Tail I'm force switched to Roserade. I Petal Dance that red dragon to victory. 1 Left.

The Champion. Dragons and fairies and different things, I take a deep breath. I heal my friends, we've made it so far, it's time for the end. I put Mienfoo out front. Hawlucha. I Fake Out, flinching her. I trust in my Mienshao being faster and use Bounce, and I'm right. Hawlucha is kill. Goodra is next. I switch to Charizard. Dragon Claw brings her down to yellow, Charizard gets hit with Muddy Water, still in the green. The lowered accuracy doesn't matter as Goodra is kill. Tyrantrum is next as Tyrantrum is sent out. Dynamic Punch is a ohko. Aurorus is next, Dynamic Punch also ohkoing that. Ninetales is out for Gourgeist. Drought Flamethrower ohko. Mega Gardevoir. Ninetales comes out. Two Flamethrowers and a hit from Psychic and she's dead. I won and nobody died. I'm so relieved. I did it. I beat my Wonderlocke! So many close calls, but we pulled through. We did it!
