Hot damn what a coincidence by Susiron
So recently I started playing Pokemon White 2
and I decided to have a female character (even though I usually like the male sprites better) and I debated on calling her Auster, but then was like "Nawww, I'll call her Asper" since I really like the name Asper but can't have a "Guilt" character named that since I named a province Asper
And then I find out that the city is named "Aspertia City"
and I actually had to Google to make sure the game didn't name the town after your character
I WAS REALLY CONFUSED AND A LITTLE CONCERNED
AND I'M STILL A LITTLE ASTOUNDED BY THIS COINCIDENCE
It's almost as amazing as the time I was playing Skyrim at 3am, rambling about how funny it would be if I found a lute instead of loot in a cave-- when I actually found a quest item lute in the same exact dungeon.
Sorry this was really random and dumb but it's like 5am here and the perfect time to post random things??

OMG that's crazy but awesome. XD I always name my trainer Elle in all my games, so when I started X and gave that name to my character, I was temporarily freaked out when the professor told me that my name was 'tres bien.' I was like "IS IT BECAUSE MY CHARACTER'S NAME IS FRENCH?!?!" ... I forgot the entire region is based on France, lol. OF COURSE FRENCH PEOPLE WOULD SPEAK FRENCH~

Back when Twilight Princess came out I named my file 'Colin' and was direly confused about the little kid Colin character running around the farm. It's such a not Zelda sounding name, why was it in there?

That makes me think of one Pokemon movie where there are characters introducing themselves to Ash and the gang and this one girl gives an Asian-sounding name
and then her friend just goes
"Hi, I'm Kevin"

Not much of a coincidence and rather something done intentionally, but every time I play Final Fantasy 7 I renamed the character "Barret" to "Marlene" because he has a daughter named Marlene who he yells about all the time and it's just really funny to see someone say "Marlene it's okay Marlene will be safe"
or have the character himself with the dialogue bubble "Marlene: MAR LE NEEE"As well as that renaming RedXIII in that game to "Nanaki" leads to the single funniest piece of dialogue in an old jrpg when you find out the character's real name is Nanaki and you get
"Who is Nanaki?"
"Nanaki is Nanaki!!"... I rambled I am so sorry

I had a hard time picking between male and female in White 2 - the boy is so adorable, but I went with the girl too @_@

I didn't if only because I didn't like the dude's hair xD
Which is funny, because I usually don't like the girl's hair (didn't particularly care for it on White 2 either, but I liked it more than the guy's at least ahahhaha)

OH MY GOD THAT'S BEAUTIFUL. |D If I had any coincidence stories I'd tell them, but...OKAY, I swear I had something similar happen the other day, but I don't remember what it was now. :C

Hahaha. Oh man, if the town DID name itself after your character there would probably be even more silly shenanigans with names and whatnot (back before they had filters, pretty sure there were a lot of 'Fuckface's running around instead of Greens/Blues/Garys. XD You can still do such things but you have to be a little more creative.
