I say hello to everyone new that joined Weasyl recently! :D
If you're new and came from Fur Affinity, then here's some helpful stuff to get you started if you haven't picked up how to do it yet.
Say for URL's;
<a href="http://www.weasyl.com></a>
You should take note that any URL's you post in Submissions, Journals and Comments will not automatically format into clickable URL's like so for example;
So you'll have to remember you have to format your links using the HTML tags if you want people to click on them. Learn more on how to format your text by reading up here http://www.weasyl.com/help/markdown
You can also format URLs using Markdown if you so choose like so
[Weasyl](http://www.weasyl.com/)
To produce the following
If you want to colorize your text use the <span>
HTML tags like this following example
<span style="color:#FF9900;">Your Text Here</span>
Which will then produce this
Your Text Here
Furthermore you can align your text by doing
<div class="align-center">Your Text Here</div>
To make it like this
Your text Here
Tagging is mainstream usage so people can search, there is no drop-down categories, so you have to use tags on submissions so people can find them. You can put in specific category tags to help people search things, you can also edit or add tags to things that aren't correct or doesn't exist, Do be aware that other people can edit your tags, unfortunately there's no way to stop people from editing, or adding tags to your submissions or journals.
Specific tagging for things you could add tags such as
[BBW] for the big girls
[COM] for Commissions
[TRADE] for Trades
[GIFT] for Gifts
and so on, it will also be helpful if you tag by species of what they are to make searches more reliable and to help people find what they're looking for by random for example if someone wanted to search up dogs or cats they'd add tags on their submissions that contain the following species in it
[Species: Cat]
[Species: Dog]
[Species: Rabbit]
Those are just an example of how to tag your works properly or for anyone to add them if they see its not there.
To further help improve searches it might be convenient to tag what categories they fall under as well as including artists names to the submissions and the year they are posted, like so for example;
[2014]
[Artist: Shad-Wolf]
[General Furry Art Tame]
[Male]
[Moderate 13+]
[Digital Art]
So tags like that just for few examples will help people when searching for things.
From your Settings page you can filter tags you don't want showing up in your search results, you can setup Standard or Advanced filters for tags you do not want to see, for example you don't wish to see [Scat], because nobody likes brown smelly sludge, you can add it to the block list for General and Adult with Advanced Tags. Again if you see unwanted content in your search results because those tags weren't on it you can add them by going to the submission and clicking on Modify„ you don't have to do this for every submission you see, but it will help improve searching results for everyone. :3
There are other useful things that will help you further to getting started on Weasyl such as Ottermatic Followers, those with accounts on FurAffinity all you do is go to your Watching List and copy all the Text on the page and paste it into Ottermatic which will then try to find users from FurAffinity with same usernames they may have on Weasyl everything will be explainable on the page.
Go to this page here to access projects for Weasyl, which will direct you to what you can do.

So there's that just help you along a little bit. :3
I hope my journal was helpful to you and better your experience for using Weasyl.
Other people too have created their own Get Stated guides for Weasyl so it just might well be worth giving them a read too~
