You don't need faith to live. However, faith gives you something that you need to live: hope. Hope is what keeps me continuing to wake up each and every single day. It brings a better tomorrow.
This is something that I easily forget. For me, hope is the only reason why I continue to write and draw. Despite seeing so many other better artists and writers out there, that doesn't stop me from being hopeful in that one day I could get better. Hope is the only reason why I continue to live, making pennies above minimum wage to support myself and my boyfriend in a run down apartment complex; sometimes I can't even buy soap or even food. Hope is what keeps me going through this life to strive for something better.
If I can't have hope, then what does life mean?
I wanted to share hope with you guys, because it's one of the few things that keeps us going. Even a tiny glimpse of hope can be like "a leaf in the woods, shaking in the wake of a startled bird's flight," but you know what? I'll take it, "with open arms. Because when spring comes, it melts the snow one flake at a time" (Hosseini, The Kite Runner).
