Weasyl: Initial Thoughts and Critiques by Kiki Foxkitty

Well, trying out Weasyl for a few. Here's my thoughts so far. Again, all reflecting my personal tastes so don't get too riled about it.

The good...

Fullsize uploads without special tricks: Much like InkBunny, all you need to do to see the fullsize is click another button. Although I'd like to be able to see what exact dimensions there are to each image in the image details so I know I've downloaded the fullest size I can possibly get.

Collections: Still haven't had a use for it yet, but I'd like to in the future. I wonder if it would help should I decide to expand DirtyFurs to here as well.

Dark Themes: A dark theme right off the bat? Good show, lads!

The bad...

Thumbnails: I actually liked when FA's thumbnails broke. At least I could see what was in a piece before clicking on it. Here, everything is a thumbnail, meaning I'd have to click everything to see if it was any good, or pertained to my...interests. If there were an option to just see the full piece thumbnail instead of the snippet thumbnails everyone seems to be using now, I'd use it. Also, thumbnails could be a bit bigger.

Searches: Searches need work. Like if I search with two keywords at once. It'll only pick up the first and completely ignore the second. I don't like that. On that topic, a way to show new uploads with tags I'm interested in, without even subbing to the artist yet, would be a godsend when it comes to finding new material.

The ugly...

Userpage Clutter: The userpages are still a bit cluttered for me. And this is probably one of the few things FA got right imho. Maybe in future revisions this can be fixed, or give users the option to arrange the pieces of a userpage to their liking like DeviantArt does.

No Multi-Page Support Yet: Another InkBunny-exclusive feature atm. Enables you to put multiple "pages" per submission, and really helps to group together stories, sequential art, minor edits of arts, etc. Add that whenever possible, guys.

Things to add?

Group support: So far the only place that has actual group support is DeviantArt, which is also a godsend for finding new material and artists. Also works as a hub for those of similar interest in arranging meets and the like through use of Group Journals. All in general would aid in strengthening this community. :3

Anything else I've missed? By all means, comment.

EDIT: One more feature request.

Drag and drop submissions into folders. Again, something dA has been using for a long time. Would greatly simplify sorting artwork into folders.
