I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm less likely to look at a submission if it's been cropped down to a thumbnail. While "a courtesy" when dealing with mature themed work, I feel it deters from the visual appeal and first impression of the piece. Anyone else feel this way?
The thumbnailing is the only part of Weasyl I find frustrating at all. I'm sure there is an artist-facing argument to be made that having FA-style gigantic thumbnails somehow means less clickthrough and fewer views for a piece, but it just ends up being kind of annoying not being able to see what's going on in a piece without clicking through and, frankly, defeats the purpose of having thumbnails to begin with. There may be more views, but they're less meaningful.
I like the thumbnail feature, but I think people need to learn how to use it. If you want to show most of your pic in the thumbnail, just make as big a square as possible. But people seem bent on making their thumbnail just the face, and it ends up looking really unappealing. I don't think they even realize that it looks bad :/

They can be, depending on the content. I know the folks making Weasyl are going to make some fixes/changes to how they work. Hopefully it'll be for the better!
