TO COMMISSIONERS FROM FA by blackantlers

Hey there, some of you may have commissioned me a few months ago and wonder things about your commissions. Obviously, some people got a bit impatient...but that's okay with me now. I've been very busy dealing with the weather (polar vortex, anyone?), live concerts and events, medical/mental health issues such as depression and anhedonia, and so on. But I've finally come around to having time for you lot.

Please mention your commission, who you are, and any necessary information I may need for your piece

I will be at some point be writing a ToS as well, though this is more for future commissions.

I know this Journal doesn't explicitly deal with me (as I got art~<3) I think I did upload the image you did of Rachel, which may be an idea for any future commissions I have from you would be to make use of the Collection Feature.

ah yes, darkmoon actually did most of the illustrative work on it, feel free to follow her if you haven't already! But yeah, I've been meaning to work with different aspects the angelic hierarchy, time to hit the books and study Enochian!

I don't know enough about any incidents you may have had to give advice, but you're welcome to take a look at my TOS (all of which is based on problems I have had in the past) and/or ask any questions you might have.

Yeah, a TOS is pretty much essential. I've had issues with commissions taking 2-3+ years to be completed, so I try to check in and keep an idea of where people are at. But harassment like that is just ridiculous, and it seems like a common behavior for career commissioners. Since furry art is probably the main social activity in the fandom, I think that commissioning someone is less of a business action than it is taking part in the community. Getting testy with the artist accomplishes nothing, and just ruins the whole vibe. :/

There was one guy I saw that cracked me up, he was a commissioner. He had a Terms of Service, but for him as a commissioner. Like every 3 days the art is late, he fines the artist $5 or something. It's no wonder he only had like, 2 commissions in his gallery. People are nuts! I think for a lot of people, commissioning artists is the only experience they have doing contractor-like transactions. So they pay $30 or whatever and think they own the artist or something, like they're buying something at McDonald's. It just baffles me how clueless furries can be sometimes.
