I haven't been able to read much that's furry-related without getting some kinda minor aneurysm. Engaging in discussion is even worse. Often times it feels like it's completely hopeless and horrible things will continue. While you and some friends may be willing to turn your backs on a service because of what it promotes, so many others will continue to use and enrich it, and mock you for being "too good" or "hipsters" or "goodie goodies."

But you know what? It's getting better. I'm seeing a whole lot more of it compared to the enablers and apathetic sorts that say that bad things are not our problem, not our business. To the ones that give an ultimatum to either ignore it and enjoy "the porn" or shut up and go away, they go away... But they don't shut up.

I used to think that barring some catastrophic loss of data or hardware failure that always seems to be lingering around the corner, the inertia favoring the biggest arbiter of centralized fandom would overcome and steamroll attempts at establishing thriving and vibrant alternatives. But hey, turns out yet another average decision for them did it. Certainly didn't help when there was another bumble of staffing that resulted in mass censorship, but to have another with that baggage, at the expense of other people better suited to the role and a blatant case of cronyism to boot?

Even with all the people shouting their support for that site for no real reason other to show how good they are at sucking up, thinking it'll make them friends with their idols while shouting down and mocking people who have faced real harm and trauma, there are enough that have finally taken all they can and won't stand for any more.

With the comments people have been making, I'm all for a smaller community if it means they aren't coming along to participate. Good riddance to them and the sinking ship they've devotedly chained themselves to. They're not needed.

As an aside I'm gonna post more photos. Still haven't even touched MFF, and with my camera back from repairs I should probably take some non-fursuit shots.
