I hope that more see the truth as it is, as the tear in the fandom and as it turns out, now in my own personal circle, is tiring, painful, and mentally trying. Its about time someone stood up to Neer and called him out for his bullshit. I tried a few years ago but it only resulted my rep being smeared my and him banning me from the forums. He accused me of leaving death threats on his cell phone. I later discovered that Neer had accused other furs of this before.

I managed to save the journal page at 192 comments, not sure how to host it though, its an actual mirror of the page, including most if not all links, even the artist icons link to their live pages on FA. (did not test all links some may not work)

Wan is a terrible person so it's not like I'm shocked he's been accused of sexually assaulting women, but those claims are unproven. What's known is how abusive he's been to the volunteers working under him on project thing that dies in a flaming heap. If Dragoneer wasn't to afraid upsetting Wan/his fans, he could have been kicked off the project for that, but that might have been the smart thing to do.

Not normally the type to engage in schadenfreude, but here I am...watching it burn.

I am very glad you posted that journal, It helped me see them for what they where and just how far they would go to hide their asses. I made up my mind and moved here and warned everyone of my friends to also leave fa. This whole situation is just gross and even though its nothing new that the staff at fa is anything but great this is a new low for them. The fact that dragoneer ignores all the allegations and testimonies from other people (including his gf!) because it wasn't "taken to court" is fucking horrible and not to mention zauch is apparently a horrid team player so this whole thing is pretty much just damn amazing in a can't look away from the monstrosity sort of terrible.

Really the worst part is that because Zaush was never convicted and because Chase played takebacksies on his comments about his sexual habits, Neer thinks it's okay to call them innocent. I'm curious if the other girls Zaush harassed ever came forward to Neer, cause that could have been convicting in itself, and it would have proven him to be an even bigger sleaze than he already is for hiring Zaush. Not to mention making it a suspendable/bannable offense to spread the information simply because "it's all hear-say" when there are screenshots and leaks of the notes to prove otherwise, and the only proof we lack is Zaush's being short of an on-paper conviction. The fact that Neer is still calling himself neutral on the matter is the most infuriating, especially with that statement from 2 other coders who left Project Phoenix because of his mistreating them and acting like he knew everything, and then to go on Twitter asking for help on how to use the very coding programming he's insisting on for the new site (even if he did it out of sarcasm, that's really tactless but then again it IS Zaush).

I have no idea how people can stay on that site... "he's not a rapist as he didn't get convicted!" People can do shit without getting convicted. Hell, it's not like our judicial system is flawless. I mean, lookit the Zimmerman/Trayvon thing. There's a ton of evidence of what happened, but the guy gets away only to cause more shit later down the line. But really, people aren't taking this seriously and reading what's said. You have Dragoneer making rape jokes and saying how what Zaush did was "immoral" (even saying his own girlfriend had the same shit happen to her), you have Zaush defending himself saying things like "it's a case of her getting what she wanted and then flipping" or "I never harassed/pressured women into sleeping with me, I was just living a swinger life", you have EVERY comment/journal mentioning all this or after enough Dragoneer participated comments end up getting erased while vocal protesters wind up suspended/banned, you have lots of people admitting that Zaush is a pushy creeper even back before the leaked notes thing happened... It's like people need a fucking Blue's Clues paw stuck to something to get their attention to really look at what's in front of them!

What's sad is there will be some artists anchored there. They can't leave. A good deal of people who buy stuff from them are the furries who contribute fandom rot by saying how FA is the best site ever and won't ever leave no matter what. They don't care about the integrity of the site or the well-being of the fandom. They're just on that site for the pictures. I only hope that eventually all the artists do peel off of FA, so that site can just fester with all those vile people until the site crashes due to lack of funds and activity, and the artists here and other places know better than to take orders from the rotten stragglers. It would be the equivalent of the fandom getting gangrene in a leg and it falling off, but at least the fandom would have the purging it needs.

Honestly, your journal was the last straw for me. I was teetering on the fence when this all dropped on us the last few days, as any time I somehow ended up on zaush's page there the past few years, Ive always had a flashback to the hacking and leak of that note to neer. For them to try and cover up what many, including me, probably felt and remembered just by going to someone's page is utter bullshit. I was planning on just using Weasyl and SF a lot more at first, but when I was linked to your journal by a friend, I made the decision to completely leave the site. Granted, I will still lurk, no commenting, no faving, no activity at all basically except looking at work, until the move over calms down for most to see who made the switch and who got left behind.

BUT, my biggest hope so far is that a LOT of the bigger artists are leaving the place for Weasyl and other art sites alike. With such a big push with the bigger artists, their dedicated followers will go with them. If the FA staff doesn't realize their serious mistake soon, which would be a blessing from above anyways if it happened, FA will drop this time.

I am glad your journal is all over tumblr by now. And now some of Neers recently tweets makes me want to leave FA 100%.

I think the artists who are very loudly declaring that they will never leave FA in order to preserve their popufur status will find that it bites them in the ass.

I wanted to thank you for making such journal and mirror on tumblr, it was really nice to have a good summarize of the whole situation and it made me actually take my own decision about FA.
There's a lot of questions that come to mind about popularity and responsibilities for such people on our community, and i think what disgust me most is that, because of such popularity most ignorant or apologist are ready to accept what is really serious in real life, just because of the sake of a website. I mean, how can such terrible people end up having that sort of power over other furries just because they own a stupid website or, you know... because of the porn they draw ?

What I really don't like about the whole ordeal are the people that seemingly want to "shrug off" the thing as nothing "serious" and try to "ridicule" the people who were either affected in some distant way or wanted to stand up to the shitty things that continue to happen at FA, all under the banner of "causing drama".

I'm not causing "drama" when I want to make a stand and pack my things because I don't like how some things are run at a website or some other place, it's my own thing if I stay or go away, but one shouldn't be made fun of because of that decision, whatever the reasons, that is in no way "drama" in my eyes.

As well as the whole thing if it actually happened or not. Even if it doesn't it was just another very bad management move by Dragoneer to insistuate Zaush into that position, even someone with just vague knowledge of what may or may not have happened could foresee the possible "drama" that would ensue. Though I can also not tolerate some of the people that raged in a very negative manner about the whole situation. The majority of the fandom should already be adults, considering the mature artwork shown and liked, so all of that should have been handled in a adult way, getting peeved on both sides doesn't help even if I know that it can be aggrevating when wanting to make a stand and not having the means to do it (call-out journals, defaming, etc. not being allowed, which is a good thing, but what other means are there then?) and staff being trigger happy when things run out of control. That's a thing where both sides are to blame, people for voicing their opinions in a malicious way and staff / management (Dragoneer) for handling it in a poor way e.g. not giving a proper means to vent about the situation because we all know, talking about that one topic with site-staff will lead nowehere and will be dropped, so what other means are there? Right, none. If a civil way doesn't work, then it will sooner or later be like the way it is right now, a shitfest of accusations, "drama"-slinging on both sides and people aggrevated. We are one fandom, one community, when will be the day that we can act like it in a mature way? I'm really looking forward to that day, but with things looking like they are now, I'm not really convinced that it may be anytime soon.

I'd just like to say that your journal was absolutely brilliant, and so was your response to Neer's note after it got nuked.

Also, to expand on the list of Stupid-Shit-Neer-Does that you had in your original journal... can we talk about the TORA incident? TORA was a really good buddy of his who also happened to be a registered sex offender after he and his boyfriend committed statutory rape against a 14-year-old boy in their hotel room (and took pictures on top of it all!). After that TORA was caught trying to bait minors into sending him nude pics via FA notes. Neer tried to cover it up, and then when it finally got out of control, "banned" him from FA and then poured his heart out all over Twitter about how haaaaarrrrrddd it was having to ban such a good buddy of his from FA. He was legally obligated to report the incident to the authorities, but I SINCERELY doubt he ever did and opted to keep it covered up so his good buddy wouldn't get in trouble.

I'm amazed he hasn't made TORA an admin yet tbh. I mean he's already got a rapist and a dogfucker in charge, soooo...

I threw up my arms, I'm done, I lost my cool, I left comments I'm not exactly proud of because of reaching my trigger limit, but that's what had to happen for me to realize I just cannot deal with that toxicity in my art life. It is paralyzing to progress and I never wanted my place for sharing art to devolve to that. I don't know why I didn't leave years ago after the actual, literal ABUSE I received at the hands of people that had no moral right being in a position of web authority.

My friends can make their own decisions, but I have to take a stand here. It's not JUST this, it's also the years and years of unaddressable vulnerabilities and exploits in the software, that constantly makes the hardware crash, the incompetency of people that won't be bothered to take a community course in public relations, seriously it is just not worth it.

I'm so glad you made that Tumblr post. I mean, I knew some of the stuff that was mentioned in it, but that just shed some more light on it, and more. I may not be leaving FA for my own reasons, but I'm so glad Weasyl is starting to get the attention it really deserves, and FA is being exposed for how bad a site and the people running it is. Took them longer than expected I'll admit. But ffs, it's not just about the cover up any more (though that's a part of it). The comments, oh dear God the comments on some of those journals and about the incident as a whole are disgusting. 'Neer's responses were disgusting. How this was handled is disgusting. The amount of jokes, and people who lack empathy...

That is why I chose to leave. I can't and won't be surrounded by that any more.

Your journal was great, and I commend you for taking such a strong stand against a site that has gotten so disgustingly awful lately. Or maybe it's always been that way but it took me a really long time to notice? In any case, this is the kind of thing that gives me more faith in the fandom, to know that there are good people with good hearts still out there, even if they're a lot more rare than I would like.

The whole reason I joined the fandom was because it was a place filled with enthusiastic creative types and compassion, but that seems to be the exception rather than the rule now. I thought it was bad enough when FA filled up with rape fantasies, but now with actual predators being promoted and cheered on just because they draw popular fap material is very disheartening.

I may just have to leave FA, but I'm a little scared about "starting over", too, and I'm sure that's a big part of why a lot of people are hesitant to just leave. That, and I thought I was friends with Dragoneer, but I can no longer excuse any of his behavior, but I don't want to start drama considering that a very large number of popular artists know my name.
