ehh + Future commission info by Krio
A lot of the comments I'm seeing for people that have an opinion on those who are moving over to weasyl are just really gross and makes me not want to be a part of that community in the least anymore. :/
Just the overall attitude is really unhealthy and yuck from everything I've seen/read
and I'm def gonna stick around over here and try and build a user base
bc I honestly don't wanna have much or any affiliation with a group of people who think like that :///
I've been in a smaller art community before (though it eventually disbanded) so it's nothing new to me.
The only hit I'll take is on the commissions front (like many) so my move will def be gradual
since commissions are my only income behhh;;;
But heads up!
I'll be posting open commission slots over here first from now on
and then after about an hour or so if they're not taken I'll cross post them on FA
but yeah this'll be mainly to help the transition
because I feel really really uncomfortable with what seems to be the general community attitude to some things.
so yup, heads up if you're a commissioner ! ;3;

Aaaaaa, yes. A million times this.
FA has just gotten entirely unhealthy, both to itself and it's userbase.

yup, personally I feel gross just posting commission art on there right now. Like I'm touching something slimy because I have to, not because I want to (pfft if that makes any sense)
But yeah, all the comments of "lol drama they'll be back in a week" really enrage me because of just, the casual dismissal of legitimate and serious concerns.
It's not like the site is even a decent site in and of itself, it's not advanced or even up to date, it constantly needs maintenance and just seems to be ass backwards in most things. The only thing it had going for it was it's user base size and niche community feel, coupled with how long it's been around. I made my account sometime mid last year because I was following some tumblr artists I like, since they were looking for another site that wasn't deviantart but still had traffic. And I'm ngl I had a really good time and it ranks as one of the most enjoyable times I've had on a website to date, thanks to the people I met there and commissioners and such.
But I feel as if I've had blinders on or just shut away in my little corner of "good-time" now that I have a wide picture of the community/administration at large.
Leaves a lot to be desired (mainly a disinfectant shower bc I just get grossed out from seeing some of the attitudes)And yup every community comes with it's good and it's bad, but I feel as if the bad vastly outweighs the good in this instance. I've been using the internet for a decade now and been in various online communities but this just takes the cake of NOPE DO NOT NO THANKS YUCK

I completely understand. It's like by using it, I am in a sense supporting the corruption going on there. It is definitely unfortunate that it's such a necessity for so many artists orz;;;

Even if you don't agree with people getting upset about something, you have no right to belittle them for it. Everyone has their problems, everyone is sensitive about certain things. Just cuz you don't care doesn't mean you should sit there laughing, with freaking popcorn like 'wow this is so much fun watch the drama unfold' (and I've seen these comments, and they make me wanna gag.)
It's much the same with me, though. I joined because I really loved seeing the adoptable designs, and had a friend that had a lot of good things to say about the place. After joining, I just felt instantly accepted into the community as an artist. It's so much easier to connect and chat with people. Much more value on an artist than dA or tumblr. And I never... gosh, I never REALIZED what FA was like for the longest time. But I like to know what's going on, and it was really only a matter of time, I suppose, until I found out about its darker sides. : /
And, just, I have too much a sense of wrong and right to be able to stick around a place that makes me feel dirty for using. Censorship, ignoring your users, BLAMING and punishing victims? Just, freakin' disgusting.-
exactly, all of this sums up my feelings and experience with the whole matter wonderfully. Treating others morals like trashy drama will never be okay and I'm just glad weasyl was an option to go to or else I'd be stuck mainly festering over there gah =v=
I am hap to join in this new community and it's awesome we share the same opinion /high fives/
lol now if only I could actually get to drawing some personal art I'd be able to get my ball rolling XDD
/procrastinates on everything that's not in commissions or queue;;;;;-
FFFF I feel ya. I take on a lot of commission work that when I DONT have it, I am just... so completely lost on what to work on, and then ends up with nothing get done at all??? orz
But heck ya high five! o/

yeah the comments are ridiculous, aint gonna kill ya for people to leave its their business and their choice the end.
I really hope weasyl stays good and keeps going up cause it would be wonderful to just move all my business here at this point. It's gotten way too gross at fa.

yup p much exactly. I'd hate to see it go the way of one of the other sites I used to frequent way back when (mangabulet/anipan)
bc FA is all kinds of problematic and dA has it's own issues it needs to get straight. weehhh sorta stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to art sites nowadays;;;

I love this place, its friendly, and the UI is amazing. It needs to grow more, but the devs are very helpful and concerned for the site.

I actually really enjoy smaller communities! I've made most of my internet friends over the years in them, alas commission wise and site popularity upkeep wise, they're not ideal;;; So I hope it does grow into a nice thriving art community to eventually rival that of the biggies FA and DA bc tbh those two leave much to be desired. And yup, the team here sems to be on the ball when it comes to the needs of the users which is all kinds of refreshing :'D

I think if enough artists STICK with this decision to use weasyl over FA, it could result in this site flourishing and the business coming to us.

I've seen some of the comments, gotten one or two myself, and just ehhhh it really just makes me not wanna stay there more. Granted there are unhealthy people in every community, but it just gets WORSE when the staff are those types of people themselves;;;;;;
