Hello, Weasyl! by Pearlsnake

And hello and thank you to all new watchers who have found me over here!

Uhm. I want weasyl to be my main gallery (with FA as a back-up. Please note my personal opinion is my own and though I do not like the site very much, my traffic is still a lot better over there. You can help me change that, yes?) I'm still trying to figure out the site; my eggs have been in the FA basket for -years- and I'm a creature of habit so it'll be a slow process. But! It's happening :>

I think I'd like to have some Weasyl exclusive posts and maybe commission offers. I'm still trying to figure it all out. Maybe add sketch pages and certain specials over here only. ;; Working on it! Anyway hello, hello and have a good stay!

    For Google Chrome there is an extension called Waxpost that you can use to cross post to Weasyl, it works great!

    A small trick I might suggest is to post your full resolutions images on Weasyl(since there's no pixel resolution limits) and add a simple lines to the versions on FA basically going "For full resolution version of this image, please follow the link".
    It's a very nice, subtly, kind of way to bolster traffic on Weasyl(by showing it doesn't limit image resolution as harshly than Furaffinity does) and more importantly, very much non-aggressive. You still post your art on furaffinity and viewers find from the getgo a reason to possibly give Weasyl a look as well even if only for a secondary account.

      Thanks! Though I don't like posting my full resolutions -anywhere- ^^ My commissioners get a big file, but elsewhere is just posted as a smaller one o:

    I just read a journal over here (https://www.weasyl.com/journal/24296/welcome-to-weasyl) about some useful links to get around Weasyl better, as well as add-ons like the one for chrome mentioned above. As for moving incentives, I find things like hi-res art, WIP sketches, streams and more personal journals make for good exclusive content. I stopped posting my streams on FA for a while now, and I still get a decent amount of traffic (especially since I moved to Tigerdile, and started using their email notification thing).

      ^^ Yeah, I don;t think I'll be posting streaming journals anymore. Tigerdile lets me post a tweet when I start streaming, so I like that feature. I might just use Weasyl's notification system since I stopped journaling on FA about it anyway. And thank you for the link!

        You certainly can, but then what if the basket breaks? ;) It's good to spread the love around. Also, more and more tools are becoming available to make it easier to post your art to multiple places.
