Not sure I can keep doing this. by NixieSeal

I'm not sure I can keep doing Anthronauts. I just took an entire month-long hiatus to try and get the house clean, and get a backlog of comics and finish commissions. I wasn't able to finish a single comic page or commission and the house is still a mess. It turns out that my kid, who is turning 1.5 years old, is taking more time than ever to take care of. Not to mention the sudden realization that unless I make him fancy bento lunches, my husband will spend $15 on fast food every work day and not bring food from home. And we have to move in March, and I'll have to do 90% of the packing...

I just can't keep up with everything. I really don't want to stop my comic so soon after rebooting- being a part of the Katbox is probably the best thing that's ever happened to me- but it's starting to look unavoidable.

Now... I have to re-script the last few pages of the intro chapter of the AN reboot, but there shouldn't be more than six pages left. I don't intend to leave a chapter unfinished. I might not be able to do weekly updates, but I will get the first chapter finished...

Not sure I can keep doing this.

If you enjoy working on AN so much, maybe you should try and make it more of a priority - even irregular updates would be better than dropping the comic. Perhaps, once in a while, let your husband have fast food and work on AN instead of preparing him lunch ?

Making him lunch is a new thing but even without it I wasn't able to get any work done. I HAVE tried to make comics a high priority. But "priority" gets shifted around when baby's been screaming for an hour or is covered in tomato sauce and running around the house and cleaning things up or getting him to take his nap CANNOT WAIT. Priority gets shifted around when I'm starving and there isn't a clean dish in the house. Priority gets shifted when the gunk in the toilet spreads. Making comics isn't a higher priority than keeping my family from getting sick from living in an unsanitary place or the baby going hungry or going without sleep. X_X

You can't be expected to do the impossible. If you really don't have time to work on AN, then there's no shame putting it on hiatus until you do. Maybe after you move, or when your baby doesn't require your attention 24/7 anymore - whenever you feel comfortable going back to it. We'll wait :)

    Catching up on Weasyl stuff...

Being partially awake I missed the period between 1 and 5 and was thinking "going on 15? Should beable to take care of himself." Maybe I need more sleep...

Yes, maybe you do need more sleep.
