I know it's been forever and a day that I've used weasyl, but I'm getting tired of FA. I highly doubt I'll have the same userbase here that I get over there, but still.. It's quite frustrating when my business is halted thanks to bad coding. @__@ *whines*
I'll try to use Weasyl more often.
I just discovered WaxPost, which will let me copy my FA submissions over to here. That was the big stumbling block for me -- I didn't want to spend days and days moving my entire gallery. Of course, that's not a necessity, but it's nice to stir activity and interest.
I have this strange feeling that FA puts all their images into the database, which makes migrations like this a nightmare. It would explain why it's taking so long. Does make me wonder, though, whether Weasyl will have similar problems as it gets bigger.
All things change in time, including watchers~
If FA doesn't get it's act together soon, than I can't imagine you'll be along on the journey over Kii.
xD I've pretty much migrated to Tumblr, and this is going to be my secondary. It's just gonna happen. I've lost business opportunities with FA being down, and the auction I have going right now... if it's not up by Christmas, I've lost the opportunity to make more. I'm going to end up bumping the date back whenever I can.

I think the best bet for artists is to diversify; have accounts on FA, here, and other sites, like SoFurry. You don't necessarily have to maintain your galleries on all sites if you don't have the time, but at least check your messages on the other sites; like once a week; and make sure that you have links on your profile pages to all the places you can be found online, so that customers can still contact you in case of a prolonged outage on any one site, like FA is currently experiencing.
