So... should I migrate my stuff? by FriskyWoods

Well, FurAffinity is experiencing issues... again. The site's been sitting on the same crumbling foundation for years, and the admins have no intention of addressing its core issues, acting only when the site comes grinding to a halt. Even when it's working as designed, FA is three steps behind competing art galleries, offering a bare-bones experience while other sites have such luxuries as custom banners and keyword blocking. The latest downtime has made it crystal clear that it's time for furry artists to demand better.

It's why I'm seriously considering a migration of my own art from FurAffinity to another gallery... like, well, this one. The only issue is that I've got hundreds of pictures, and I don't know how to do a batch transfer to make the process less of a headache. Also, the Weasyl admins have a rather jaundiced view of diaper art that might make it tough for me to share all of my work here. What should I do?

Also, feel free to share your thoughts about FurAffinity here. Do you feel it's time for the furry community to move on?

So... should I migrate my stuff?

How about picking say, 30-50 of your favourite works to showcase here? You could upload a very small batch of your work here today, wait a day or two to see if the admins take any of it down with notice, and go from there?

Kitashi has a script that will let you migrate your entire gallery at once. You will need to install Python 3 to use it though.

    It's at https://bitbucket.org/Kitashi/art-gallery-manager/overview

Looks like the page is missing a few steps. What else you got?

Okay, Waxpost (Weasyl Crossposter) looks like it'll get the job done, albeit slowly. Much quicker than manually posting each image, though.

I used waxpost to migrate 500+ images. It's useful.

Batch process or one by one? Because it seems to get hung up on ratings and, if none were put in the original image, keywords.

One by one. I am meticulous.
