Hey new watchers! + Tagging system by WhiteMantis
I noticed I got a lot of watchers these days, so, thank you very much for watching/following me! I will do my best to keep you interested in my work!
I've always been rather active here, but now I'm gonna be even more!
The only thing that kept me from posting stuff right away when it was done was the tagging system. I really dislike the tagging system here because it's not fluid. Needing to put an underscore everytime I want to add multiple words in one tag was really delaying. I know it sounds like something that wouldn't really bother anyone, but it DOES bother people who LIKE to tag their work correctly and add as many tags as they can.
In my opinion it would be better if it was like Tumblr, where we can separate tags by placing a comma after it and not by hitting the space bar. It's more fluid and requires less keys to be pressed!
BUT, for now, the WaxPost addon is solving my problems. I can just post the submission on FurAffinity or deviantART first and them transfer it to Weasyl, skipping the whole tagging process! So that's great!

Well, I certainly can't walk for the others, but I've been posting here even when FA wasn't down. I believe an artist should spread their art as much as they can so it's easier to be seen/discovered, that's the reason I don't stick with just one gallery. I have active accounts on FA, dA, Tumblr, SoFurry and Weasyl. And since I'm a freelance artist, I dedicate a good portion of my time maintaining my online galleries! :3

I'd far prefer _'s to join words of a single tag than to only have single-word tags.
WaxPost -- I was gonna write something like that! Sounds like I don't have to now. :)

You would still be able to use multiple word tags! For example, you could type "Orchid Mantis" and it would be one tag. If you wanted to use or search Orchid Mantis Geisha, you would just need to type "orchid mantis, geisha" instead of "orchid_mantis geisha". The comma would separate one tag from the other, instead of the space. On Tumblr you can't search for multiple words tags, but on DeviantART you can, and you don't need to put "_" between anything!
That's something like that I was suggesting!

Oh, I wasn't saying commas weren't better than _'s. They'd certainly be more intuitive. I'm just saying that even if it's not intuitive, it's better than not being able to specify multiple words. I think. Like, I have a lot of art featuring portal guns. It would be nice if I could specify "portal, gun, portal gun". Here I guess it would be "portal gun portal_gun"?
Hmm, I need to investigate Weasyl's search mechanism a bit. I wonder how the distinction of the above examples would play out in search as compared to FA, where multi-word tags are not feasible, but the search engine is reasonably extensible.

And another solution for the non-intuitive/fluid tag typing system, would be the site suggest us some tags from a list of most popular tags, like SoFurry does. If you start typing "f", for example, the site could suggest the word "fox" and "ferret", and the suggestions would be narrowing down as you type in more letters.. So we wouldn't need to type down some tags, just click/arrow down and select the tag or just type down another new word, like "family".

If the look-ahead tagging system were rating-aware, then it would be awesome. I could imagine some inappropriate tags coming up when you type 'f', for example. >.> I mean, as long as you don't select them it's fine, but I'd rather not see them in the first place. *grin*

I've started that project a couple of times (before I found WaxPost just now). I have a break coming up, maybe something will happen. :)

I know right, with me and my girl DevoidKiss the main thing we have trouble with uploading art here is the tagging system. It really was a slow and tedious process to tag everything properly so it led to a large neglect in upload times or wanting to bother with the system compared to all the other sites with tags. Usually she's able to copy and paste to all sites at the same time, but not here. If this plugin works as well as it should a lot more artists will post here waaaay more.

Exactly what happened to me. Needing to put "_" everywhere made things sooo slow I was just discouraged to upload stuff here. I tried to copy and paste too but alas, they transform ALL THE TAGS into a single.
I like to tag my work as much as I can, so much it kinda looks like some sort of OCD hahaha I can't leave a work untagged. But this WaxPost thing copies your tags and puts them here perfectly!
