First, I put a bit of post-apocalyptic flash fiction on my blog for Halloween:

Second, Episode 1 of the e-magazine Fictionvale is now available, which includes my story "The Claw in Her Heart." "Claw" is a dark take on portal fantasies -- when a brother and sister discover a fantasy world, those talking animals may not be as friendly as they first appear.

Fictionvale is a 'digital magazine,' with each issue published as an ebook. It's priced at $3.99, and you can get the Kindle version direct from Amazon here, or you can buy Kindle, epub, and PDF versions direct from the Fictionvale site (using PayPal) here. The editors have worked really hard on this first issue, and I think it's going to be a treat to read. (The authors worked hard, too -- I have never, ever had a short story edited so thoroughly. And I mean that in a good way.)

Also, I recently got an acceptance I'm really excited about. There's a post-human science fiction pretty-darn-furry novelette of mine that's now slated to be published as part of a new anthology called Straeon, from the folks at Stupefying Stories. It'll be out next month (editing and publishing gods willing), and I'll see if I can put a little teaser here when it's available.
