Don't worry I'm jus joking around XDDD but heeyyy welcome everybody! :D I seen some newcomers and returners and I jus wanna say welcome and I hope you like it here ^w^

I've been active for almost half a decade now, and in all honesty, I don't really like how people claim this site is a "ghost town" when even before the migration, I saw plenty posting and interactions going on. It's like, why would it suddenly be a "ghost town" when I actually made friends on here am I right? and how is it a "ghost town" when people upload, interact, and communicate every single day? It just doesn't make any sense to me. :/ Like sure it's a smol, tightknit community, but it doesn't necessarily make it "empty". I think people are confusing small communities with no communities, because I've seen alot of activity on there before, even before the furaffinity migration. Weasyl was never a ghost town. U.U Anyway, migration or not, I still love weasyl and have been active here ever since I first joined ^w^

I hope that one day there'll be more cool features for weasyl, maybe character profiles could do more, like being able to comment and post as your oc, and being able to link your character to any works you do of them. I wonder if weasyl will have a group feature one day or maybe their forum will return sometime ^w^ or who knows, maybe the groups here will be like furaffinity's! :D would be cool if weasyl had something like that ^w^
My 5th year anniversary will be here soon and it'll soon be half a decade since I first joined weasyl X3 I'll see if I can celebrate with a stream or something! :D if you have any ideas, feel free to suggest them too!

Oki so.. while I'm here, lets talk about the upcoming things I'm working on! :D right now I'm tryna get Cody's new ref finished, it'll be like Max's new ref where there's no design changes except maybe new outfits, accessories, and equipment. I'm making new refs so that they're easier to follow, and ofcourse..my art has improved so much over the years so it'll be nice to update it with that ^w^
I also got some speedpaint art I'm working on which I'll be livestreaming, and I also gotta put together those speedpaints into a video. got alotta videos to put together, I just need to have the time and motivation to do so.. ^-^;
I'm also working really hard on my comic series The Waffle Stars, along with working on a very big literature about one of the stories too :3 I plan on making comic and animated versions of the stories I make someday ^w^ my animated series is gonna need some voice actors so it might be a while until it's out. If you'd like to help voice the characters of my series, feel free to lemme know! :D
I should have some voice claims somewhere to help you get the idea ^-^ I noticed a common mistake that new voice actors tend to do is that some of them lack emotion in their voices, so I'd like to get voice actors who put alot of emotion and feeling into their voices :3 I too like to voice act, though I just like doing it for funsies X3 might like to join in with voicing characters sometime tho!

Aaaannd uuhh.. that's all I have to say! :3 for now anyway X3 This is just a random journal that has a bit of everything so I hope you don't mind a journal that's a bit more spontaneous for once ^w^

Please be nice when commenting! I refuse to be criticised so please accept that.
If you're gonna be mean, don't say anything at all
Thankies for checking out my post! Meep meep! ヽ(◕ヮ◕)ノ

    I loved Weasyl since I came here, a small community feels a lot more comfortable :3
    I also can't wait to see your comic! I usually don't read comics but I'm up to!

      same here ^-^ weasyl made me feel welcome when I was very nervous first joining, I just escaped from the bullying on deviantart at the time so knowing how peaceful and accepting the community is, it made me feel safe here <:3 I really like how there's a rule against callouts, to me I think weasyl is almost like a safe place for creators to get their works out there, without having to worry about being bullied or judged. it's been my favourite art place for a long time now ^w^

      comics are fun to read :D I should try and read em more X3 got a few comics and mangas at home I've been meaning to read also :o i also wanna say that I'm happy i motivated you and i know i say this alot but I appreciate the support X3 the comics might be a while yet but don't worry they'll be on its way to completion at some point ^w^ for now I still have the ask oc comics, them ask ones usually only continue when there's a new question to be answered :3 but again thank you! :D

    I think its just volume shock for some when they call this place a ghost town. Like I knew this place was not really dead, just real quiet compared to some of the larger sites. So it would be like going from a place like say NYC to a small town.

    Also really liking how there is not a constant flood of YCH advertisements here.

      yeahh though I think furiffic was alot worse than weasyl then it comes to that.. ^-^; like weasyl did have a small community taking part of the site and while furiffic was small too, all people did there was just upload and that's it, no comments, following, faving, or communication whatsoever. it kinda felt pointless sometimes, but maybe that's why that site closed down hm..

      but weasyl I don't really get, a ghost town means the place is completely empty and nothing happens, but I've been around on here for almost 5 years now and seen plenty things happen here. like sure it's not as big as twitter and instagram or furaffinity even, but that don't mean there's no activity, you get what I mean? <:3

      yeah me too! I think that's a big issue that furaffinity had, it makes it hard to fave actual artwork if 90% of the recent page is "ych £15" and "ych reminder".. X.X;
      sorry if any of this came off direct, I don't mean to be fgooiuffdoguodif sleepiness makes it hard to tell sometimes.. QwQ

        I know the sleepy derpy feeling all too well myself >w<;

    Ooooooh, so much cool stuff to look forward to! I don't think this place is a ghost town, and even if it is, so what? I like it here!

    • Link

      hehe I'm glad you're looking forward aswell X3 yeah me neither, I think weasyl's a bit too active to be considered a "ghost town", so that's kinda why I don't consider it as such.. ^-^; also me too! :D I think it's very welcoming and homely here ^w^

    I still really prefer Weasyl to Fur Affinity, one-million percent! Most of the people I follow or follow me, that are here regularly…..they all seem friendly and stuff. :)

    And, really, if anyone who called this a ghost town based on a one or two day visit to the site…..if all those people who say this site is a ghost town would BE ACTIVE instead of doing a post-and-run—well it wouldn’t be a ghost town if they’d all be active, would it? XD

    I hope you have fun developing out your characters more and doing more art! :D

    • Link

      I feel the same way with deviantart, I would choose weasyl over deviantrant any day ^w^

      yeah! never judge a book by its cover cos weasyl is alot more active than people think UwU

      thanks! :D I'm finally getting around to using Yuki in my new literature so I'm happy about that ^w^ also started using Neon again too! :D used to use her alot when she was new ^w^ and two new characters are also in the novel I'm working on, I shall soon reveal em once I draw em X3

        A site is only as active as you are active on the site. If you only visit every couple months, you really can’t say a site is dead quiet. :p

        The best part is having fun with everything you’re creating! :D

        • Link

          yeah and if they don't get any interactions then I think people gotta come to us more instead of us coming to them, that's why I like to take part in this nice community ^-^

          yeah definitely! art is a fun hobby and I definitely like to enjoy myself while creating ^w^

          • Link

            For sure!

            I've been making mini-booklets of my various art papers the past few days, since I got a booklet stapler last fall I've barely used it--but I have tons of different kinds of art papers and thought I'll make some themed books and do little doodles of my OCs in them. Maybe it'll motivate me to do some art of individual characters? :)

            • Link

              drawings are always fun to do ^-^ i should draw my background characters more too :3 i have some that need new art as some of the characters and their art are quite old. i also have some new characters without any art, they need some art and designs especially :3

              • Link

                I remember one year, I made it a goal to make a reference sheet for every character I recieved as an adopt. It was a long process.........I sometimes think I should update those references, too. But it is a lot of work! XD

                • Link

                  yeah I'm also tryna do refs for all my characters..and their outfits, and their forms..whew! it's alotta work! but i wanted to update some old ones by making new ones with the same designs, just more improved artwork and easier to understand refs UwU gonna start with the most important characters first, starting with my fursonas and main characters, then secondary characters that play the most important roles come first, like Izzy, Alfie, and Tiny, then the rest of the secondaries like Sakura and Zerda, and then background characters and so on :3 I thought it would be good to start with the most important characters first cos they'll be getting the most art

                  I can totally understand how long it'll all take when doing everyone's refs, maybe I could leave out the least important (but still loved) characters for now like the background ones, until they gain an actual personality and further development UwU

                  • Link

                    The largest ref I ever did was for Soren Vincaire after the 3rd arc of his stories started. Since he had very distinctive outfits in each arc, it became so huge because of that--it was 3 whole 8-1/2x11 inch cardstock (handdrawn) that I scanned and attached together in Paint, to color digitally. I simplified a multiple outfit ref when I did the more recent (ha-ha, two years ago) ref for Keira-Jo on 11x17 inch comic board.

                    I'd say to definitely start with your most used characters first, since they'll be the more likely you'd ever get art from, if you commission/trade with other people. Then minor character come next. :)

                    • Link

                      yeah definitely ^-^ alot of my character have outfits and forms so i thought well instead of cramming them all into one ref, i think i'll make em all separate UwU less confusing for others too! so Cody will have a ref for his kemonomimi form and his fox form, and a list of outfits on the next ref :3 same goes with all my other characters, they'll all have refs for that too plus most will have other versions of those refs for my other audience :3

                      • Link

                        It sounds like a pretty good plan! :)

                        • Link

                          :D

                          I'm gonna try and keep things easy to understand while still looking really cool and fancy ^w^
