Welcome! by Sludger Slipfwysh

I am seeing the predictable influx of users coming to Weasyl in light of Fur Affinity's apalling attempt at content moderation.
This creature welcomes you with open arms, and asks that you stay a while and feel this place out. I have been actively using Weasyl for several years now and I must say it is a cozy home.
I have only a little energy for words lately, so I will leave you with a few brief suggestions:

  • Keep your tags open to edits. You might not be familiar with our tagging system or not have any care to add some, but others can fix them up for you.

  • Use Collections. If you collaborated with or commissioned someone, adding the artists work to your Collections will notify you of any activity on that submission, thereby letting you be part of any discussion around it. It's a very good social opportunity and helps cut down on duplicate uploads. Likewise to artists, please consider allowing and approving Collection requests from relevant persons.

  • Be kink posiitive. It's okay if something isn't for you, but don't yuck someone else's yum! The reason you are fleeing FA is because someone with administrative power got a bee in their bonnet about a kink they didn't care for. Don't model this unkind behaviour, and instead try to blacklist and block that which you can not tolerate. You can find your tag blacklist in your settings. We can do that here. :o)

  • You can change your username. If you're a returning member and your alias has changed in the time away, it's very possible to change your username. There is no need to make a new account.

  • There is no one true website and centralization is bad. Consider uploading and maintaining a parity between at least two sites.

If you have questions I'm happy to share what I know, little though it may be. Have a nice time!

Welcome!

    Oh! That's really neat about collections!
    Is there a page to access or assign things to them? Can't seem to find where to even access/activate them. XD;;

      Collections shoykd be on by default, other users will go to an upload you've made and request a collection from there. You should also see the button on just about any submission by other people near the submission information.
