Custom Thumbnail Errors? by AoiTheDragon
So these last few days whenever I'd want to upload a custom thumbnail whether it's for a character profile or for a story, I keep getting a "bad gateway" error or an error directly from Weasyl themselves. No matter what I try, adding thumbnails give error messages lately. I figured it was just for a day where a feature is kinda buggy on that day, which happens but it's now like two days later and it still happens whenever I want to add a thumbnail to a submission. Curious to see if anyone else is experiencing this with thumbnails. Uploading submissions works absolutely fine but whenever I want to upload a custom thumbnail for a submission, it's a no go and I get an error every time. I've also tried different browsers which makes no difference. If this is a site issue, I hope it gets fixed soon.

The main page of Weasyl at the top and also for FA has server updates and will notify users of what happening. If the furry sites do go down they have twitter, and other sites to tell you what's happening. You can get details there as well.

No problem. It's become the norm theses days on the technical side of things. Most times this is just a temporary irritant and tbh it's a better alternative than hoping for the best or excessive walls such as captcha and cloudDNS/ip checking your web browser every time you go to website. Especially with web browsers now using cloud networks as buffers to speed things up.

If you use Puffin web browser. All the furry sites will grill you with every type or security check they can come up with and "bad request" instantly comes up.
It's too bad, since it's a good private web browser.

hm well I have had probs adding character thumbnails before but I don't think I've had this one before <:o maybe the changes have a bit of a delay? either way, I sure hope weasyl fixes it soon! also it would be awesome if weasyl had groups X3 and the ability to comment as your characters like you can on sofurry and toyhouse :D speaking of which, do you have a toyhouse? ^-^

I am pretty familiar with toyhouse during my active time on Furry Amino but for now, I'm not really interested. I'll let you know if I ever change my mind, though! Thanks! :D

ohh yea I understand. I use to be on furry amino but I left because there's too many rude people on there and people forcing needless criticism on me when I clearly said I don't even need any. I mean sure there was nice people too but honestly I'm better off with a nicer community like weasyl I can spend time on instead.
I much rather be in friendlier communities like weasyl and art fight and leave the drama infested places like deviantart, anthrodex, and amino. No point wasting time being surrounded by dramaqueens if you ask me... :v though no offense to you ofcourse! this ain't really at you so dw!I'm also aware that alot of drama happens on twitter which is why I don't interact with the community on there much. I just stick to my own tweets and interacting with my friends on there, while liking and retweeting everyone else's tweets without commenting
My twitter is like my training ground for practicing self defense. So if you see me being super sassy on there then that's just me thinking up some colourful roasts to mock my haters with, since they've still stalking me for so many years now and I still think it's funny that they're still mad after so long XDDDD doing this also helps me practice self defense incase the next time I get bullied. but it's only at my haters. never at anyone else so dw!-
Yeah no worries! I understand completely! And yeah, I am no longer active on Furry Amino either. However, I do have to admit it was a great place for me to start off when in comes to the fandom's social media platforms. ^^

yeah true, I also hear it's useful to sell adopts and advertise commissions too :3 if I do go back then I might just use it for that reason

The pre-load of the pages is handled by a different part of the server aka portal. Bad gateway means that the connection to the thumbnail manager on Weasyl either timed our or failed all together from most likely too many requests, or a software upgrade was in progress or the import was in a new format.. FA has had this problem for years as well. In the end it's a kind of security wall since furry sites get attacked all the time. It's better to loose a small temporary bit of data to a DDOS.
