okay... I have a problem. Maybe. I have a ton of fursonas and I don't know if that's normal. Not just for different aesthetics or forms! Just totally separate characters that aren't even the same species or colors or anything. All they really have in common is that I made them and I like them LOL.

Now I think most people 'update' or redesign their fursonas every couple of years to better reflect them but I just do not work this way for some reason. Because now... I have three I actively draw but there's, no joke, several more from years past I still have and love so much, I wouldn't get rid of them ever even if I only draw them one a year.

I just cannot throw away a fursona once they were special to me AAHH. To me, my fursonas aren't as much just 'furry avatar for me on the internet' but rather a regular original character who draws a lot of elements from me and is relatable/like me. So they're a lot more special than any other regular OC. I always make these indepth backstories/profiles and think about where they would live... their jobs... their hobbies.. etc. But still a fursona in my eyes because I have lots of original characters that don't really have that 'me' vibe.
I guess the difference is fursona contains atleast one aspect of my personality. Original character is just something totally random or based on someone/something who is absolutely nothing like me. Dunno if that's common.

Side note: also I'm mainly writing this because my 'main' fursona now is the least interesting design I've ever made. Not even any fancy markings or color combos or anything... just a dog I freehand but I just love him so much. I feel weirdly 'guilty' because I know I can think of something a lot more creative lol. But I draw for me, and he sparks the most joy. So. Yup... guess I got a new one?

Just some random thoughts. If you read this far: do you have multiple, and if you 'use' one more often, why?
