🌱Chasing a bunch of pigs by Uluri

I'm exhausted right now. Just chased a pair of pigs out of my yard back to the house where they belong. kaioku was laughing at me the whole time because I was yelling at them like a bunch of tresspassing teens. It's Effective, though! None of this Shoo, shoo nonsense. XD

So yeah, got them back home. It's frikken hot and humid and gross outside, hope I don't have to go back out again. Holy heck.

I can't imagine being in that kind of rural area where you have pigs wandering into your property. XD (And I live near Iowa/Illinois farm country...........but not close enough, it seems! )

This is the first time there's pigs. Usually breakout animals are cows here. Cows n Horses scare me even though i know their nice animals, so i let them do whatever the hell they want if they show up.

I can see that--cows and horses are BIIIIIIIIIIG. I'm sure cows, with their crazy strength, probably don't think anything of it when they want to go get more grass and just shove their way out of pens. chuckle

My only animal adventure recently was watching a large family of crows in the parking lot outside my apartment. It seriously looked like a family on vacation--they were just walking around and an adult was feeding a juvenile (except the juvenile was bigger than the adult, that made me laugh), and they were playing in the dirt (dust bathing). XD

Awww. I love bird families. There is a family of Ravens that stop by every so often.

I'm pretty sure we've got a Crow Mafia living within the several blocks around my apartment complex--I've seen them warring with squirrels and they've even chased a juvenile Bald Eagle out of the immediate area. XD But they're so amazing at how coordinated and smart they are. I notice some of them watch me leave for work every morning--kinda weird, but I know that they can come to recognize individual people, especially if they do the same things every day (like me walking to the bus stop to go to work).

I'm not sure I've ever seen a real Raven before, I bet that's really cool! :D

Drop them a french fry or something next time.

They're big and I really like how low Raven's caw is. I've been watching their family grow for two years. I see more each year on my Walks outside. Sadly I haven't been outside very much this year to check on them, though. I know there's still definitally 3. I hear them talk to each other across my yard.

Speaking of Bird Mafias, I have a Bluejay Mafia by accident now. They started to recognize me since I started to put food on my porch. It's really interesting seeing birds recognize you. They look at you a lot differently. The bluejay Mafia were the ones who got upset when a Hawk almost grabbed my bum, and they also alert when cats are walking in the wild around me.

                Definitely! :)

If a crow’s voice can carry so far, I can imagine a raven’s can too. I know that I can tell the difference in different caws from the crows around here—can you tell the difference in ravens, too?

I have not seen a blue jay in years! I used to see them a lot in winter around here, but it feels like so very long since I’ve seen any. @_@ I used to see them more when my old neighbor (who passed away) had his multiple bird feeders out. Used to also see hummingbirds then, too! XD But we’ve had too many vandals in the last couple years, I’ve been afraid to put out bird feeders myself at this point……. :/

I can't quite recognize the other two apart, but there is one that I absolutely love his voice. I always have to tell him how beautiful it is. He often sits in the trees to the West, and sometimes a bit further away in the trees to the South. He likes the morning a lot.

That's really cool! :D I wonder if he's the leader or just an outsider? :)
