Quick question, is there a limit on character uploads because I keep getting an error message saying weasyl can’t decode the image I upload and then my web browser crashes when I reload the page, or should I just wait awhile?

That sounds more like it is unable to read the file data, maybe the codex used to save it, does something the codex reading it don't expect .. maybe try a different file format or save it again with another program / size
