Year in Review 2022 by foxgamer01

Welp, another year over and a new one beginning. So, what do I think of the year?

It was a mixed bag, to say the least.

For starters, to those who haven’t heard, my family is finally moving; Specifically, to Arkansas. And while I originally planned on staying, since my niece and her husband moved out and I graduated from college (with no student loan debt to my name), I decided to come as well. And, as my dad found out, there would’ve been a lot of lawyering stuff if I stayed after all. (Long story short, the house is under my mom’s previous marriage name, and my sister and I weren’t adults when she died. Because of that, the only ones who legally can inherit the house would be my three sisters born from her previous marriage. To sell the house, my dad has to ask each of them permission to do so, and the money gained from the venture will be split by the courts so that my dad gets half and my sisters get half). It will definitely be a stressful time, but I believe that it’ll be worth it. Of course, I still have to let my work know my plans. And speaking of with, my work.

It’s hasn’t been as great as last year, specifically with the last few months. A considerable part about that is that many of the coworkers I love working with got fired. As such, my stress levels have gone up, especially since they are skilled workers and, even after getting new ones, the void is still there. In fact, there’s only one there that makes me want to stay despite the department going under chaos. Such as life, I suppose.

Writing-wise, it’s one of my best years yet. I wrote not one but two massive stories, A Name More and The Pokémon Prometheus 2 and, while they didn’t get as much fanfare as I hoped, I’m still happy with my achievement. I’ve also written a fair number of short stories so far, with one being edited by a friend since it involves his universe and lore, and he wishes to align the story so it fits. When it is out, I have no idea. Just know that, while it’s not one of the longest stories I’ve written, it’s longer than my standard short stories.

So, yeah. That’s my year in a nutshell. Sucky moments with some good moments. I do hope that 2022 will be a better year.

It won’t be a better year, will it?
