DA, FA, and Weasyl, and in regards to all by Liko

Warning, super long journal ahead, check bottom for TL;DR version.

Before I continue to make myself look like an insensitive ass, I will just say right off the bat, I am completely aware of the incompetence of the Fur Affinity administration, nay, incompetence is putting it lightly, but I don't have a word to describe their actions. If there was a word, at least one that I knew, it would mean "prone to covering up issues, downplay problems, and dishing out undeserved punishment." Is the word tyrannical? I suppose so. If you are not on Fur Affinity, there is no need to join up. But problem is where do you go?

Sofurry doesn't know how to define itself. Meaning it used to be a site for erotic writings, but they tried to play more into social networking and artwork spreading itself thin.

Inkbunny is swarming with babyfurs, so they'd eat up my alternative work, but that's about it. Also not really a fan of the whole allowance of cub porn either.

Art Piles, well I thought that was gonna be the next Fur Affinity, but that died pretty quickly.

So we're left with Weasyl, which admittedly is doing better than a lot (and dare I say it all) of the other art sites to come after the advent of Deviant Art and Fur Affinity. I'm investing my interest in this site because I would like for Fur Affinity to shrivel up eventually. Why? Well putting all the stories of corruption, cover-up, and reckless disregard, (which is really hard to do) they've proven time and time again that they refuse to keep things up to date. Did you know they didn't have a search feature until years after the site went up? A basic fucking feature that comes with any message board. People tend to lay the blame solely on Dragoneer, and yes he plays a major role in it, but it also comes down to a lot of his staff, and the people who suck up to him.

I am still on Fur Affinity, and I don't wish to use it for much longer, strictly because of what has gone on, but none of it has effected me directly, unlike Deviant Art. A while back when I used to use Deviant Art with some regularity, one of the staff moved one of my pieces to scraps because it "contained screenshots" from a game. I told them that the screenshots were modified. Apparently that rose a red flag, because they then deleted the scrapped artwork telling me that modifying screenshots breaks copyright completely. I tried to argue against this saying that I've done it before no problem. That rose a few more red flags apparently because I was greeted the next day to no less than 10 removal notices, most of which were complete bullshit as they did not contain copyrighted material or screenshots. They were completely original works of art. Out of fear of this happening again, I slowed down my posting of artwork until it came to a complete halt, and I was strictly on Fur Affinity.

I never have had this PERSONAL issue on Fur Affinity. Which is why I post stuff on there without hesitation, but I'll sooner use my money to buy a hat for TF2 than donate to keep Fur Affinity running. People joke about the money going towards Dragoneer buying commissions, but even if they do go to keeping the site running, it isn't going towards shaping up the staff and protecting people who are being stalked.

So I sit here on Weasyl, waiting for more people to leave FA before I finally close down my accounts for good. I will start to post stuff to Weasyl exclusively and other stuff will be posted here at least 12 hours earlier than on Fur Affinity.

TL;DR version: FA sucks from a global stand point and deserves to shrivel up, Deviant Art betrayed me and scared me from ever using it again, I'm waiting on more people to show up on Weasyl before I leave Fur Affinity.

EDIT: I posted a much shorter corresponding journal on Fur Affinity. I doubt I will get banned for posting it, but if I do, I won't be surprised.

This was the point I was trying to get across Twitter, but it's really hard to condense political points into 140 characters.
