Recent Journal - February 5: Commission Queue empty + new prices ! by LudoCrow

Hello!

So current watchers might have noticed that I just posted a new commission today. This was done for :iconPathia: and Gracie, whom I give my hearfelt thanks again to for the support and chance to work on such a project. As it turns out, this was also the last of my queue, which means I am fully open for commissions again!
So if you want to commission me, do hit me up with an email at fringecrow@gmail.com but also DO look up at the new prices listed further down below in this journal!

As this last commission was also the last under my older pricelist. Thus, as a result, future commissions will all be under a new pricelist, the old model already pre-emptively taken down to avoid causing confusion. While a formal illustrated version of the new pricelist has yet to be produced, the prices themselves however are already decided and thus are included in this journal.

Before I post the new prices, I will state that "Ink", "Colors" and "Painting" options will remains, perhaps with slight increases for the former two and a more notable one for painting(to better represent the amount of work it currently takes me to produces a painting of satisfying level in my eyes). Where things are seeing changes however is a better categorization of the scope/complexity of a picture however.
Previously, my prices were "one size fits all" that forced me to occasional make "special" prices for pictures that were clearly going to be easier to render than a fullbody illustration(like a portraits) but also struggled when a picture's complexity or width sometimes went beyond the scopes of works I based myself upon when originally setting the prices.

Thus, new options are specifically given at all levels for portrait, partial body and full body illustrations while featuring set prices(and descriptions for such) for simple and complex poses(something the old pricelist often specifically struggled with).

For an example, at 55$USD, the new pricing for "Ink+Color, partial body, simple pose" is equivalent to the pricing of my old pricelist for generic "ink+colors" which in truth had actually been decided on a similar type of illustration initially. So in this regard, prices didn't as much "increase" from the old pricelist than simply made room for more accurate pricing for more complex works.

So without further ado, here is how the new pricelist will work:

To start, a full explanation of what I mean about "simple" vs "complex" poses as categorized in the pricelist:

Simple/neutral pose: A pose where the character is standing in a neutral or general relaxed pose. They can be hunched slightly and so on, but generally not doing any drastic movement or arms/legs motions. Example includes: "Standing" poses, talking to another nearby individual while perhaps waving an arm, checking one's phone in the street while walking at a relaxed pace, leaning against a wall, or even a werewolf serenely howling at the moon in an easily rendered profile shot. Many standing, "after the facts", post-transformation poses can also fits in this category.

Complex/dynamic poses: Poses that are either very dynamic or nonetheless complex to render even if there is little "motion" going on. The includes the likes of running/fighting poses but also static but complex poses like a character sprawled down on a bed seen from a front view perspective(rather than a more easily rendered angle seen from above) and beckoning another with crossed legs/etc... or such scenes mixing motion and static such as a character on their knees and struggling in the midst of transformation to another creature, especially with the melding of anatomies this include.

Portraits: Picture where only the head, or shoulders and up, of the character is visible. Due to the very tigh focus, there is no complex/simple posing option.

Inked: 35$USD

Inked and Colors: 45$USD

Painting: 100$USD **

Partial body: Pictures where most, but not all of the character's body is visible, generally feets being not(but there could be exceptions based on pose). Examples are thighs and up or prominent upper body and the such.

Inked, simple/neutral pose: 40$USD

Inked, complex/dynamic pose: 60$USD

Inked and Colors, simple/neutral pose: 55$USD ; this is comparable to the old "Ink+Colors" option of my old pricelist at the same price.

Inked and Colors, complex/dynamic pose: 82$USD

Painting, simple/neutral pose: 160$USD ** (Currently unavailable)

Painting, complex/dynamic pose: 240$USD ** (Currently unavailable)

Full body illustration: This is the category for illustrations where the character's full body is entirely visible from head to toes, with all the added details and composition work it requires in terms of setting up characters to fit within the canvas/paper.

Inked, simple/neutral pose: 50$USD

Inked, complex/dynamic pose: 75$USD

Inked and Colors, simple/neutral pose: 70$USD

Inked and Colors, complex/dynamic pose: 105$USD

Painting, simple/neutral pose: 200$USD ** (Currently unavailable)

Painting, complex/dynamic pose: 300$USD ** (Currently unavailable)

Extra charges:

Background: +50%

Extra characters: +50% per characters

Note that such charges are up to discussion before the start of the work during email correspondance(this also applies for how I will determine whether a work will be categorized under "simple" or "complex" pricing for poses).

So these are the new prices. I hope they prove detailed enough without being overwhelming to people interested in my work! Ultimately, as noted by the note next to partial body ink+color prices, the pricelist is still somewhat based

And some of you might have noticed that Painting style work are currently unavailable. The reason behind this has a couple of different facets but... to put it simply: Painting takes me a lot of work. Generally multiple days of it to get a rendering that satisfies me. For this reason I increased the price of Painted commissions more than any others to better reflect how much work they represents... which brings me to the specific reason they are unavalaible for the time being; that with such a price increase I need to myself create specific paintings that can serves as examples of my works under the new pricelist AND see if I should thus adjust painting's prices up or down based on that formal experience. Thus, until I can create these examples works, painting commissions will remain temporarily closed.

So... that's it. I hope that the new and more detailed prices still proves appealing to those who have commissioned me in the past or might intend to again, and with this I wish you a good day and thank you all again for your support and interest in my work!
