Sorry all for being late in reporting, but here are your FHL updates as of July 12th 2013
FHL Season 3 Draft Lottery(and Updates)
As usual when it comes to hockey, things have mellowed since the Portland Roses dramatic championship comeback. Players have flown back to their homes in Canada, Russia, wherever, to kick back and begin summer training.
But it's time to sharpen the skates and tape up those sticks again! We have several promising new rookie prospects for Season 3, a brand new game engine, with additional stat categories and player variables, and new team sheets. And best of all, teams will now be running lines! So everyone will be getting playing time, not just the starters.
We'll be posting soon about a tune-up tournament, the Anthro Challenge Cup, in which different species form alliances and clash against others to see who will win bragging rights in the animal kingdom. This tournament is merely a beta test for the new system we have in place. We'll hopefully have all the kinks ironed out by Season 3 (fingers crossed!)
In the meantime, I've drawn a lottery to determine the draft order for the Season 3 FHL Draft. The 1st and 2nd round drawing was conducted similar to the NHL system (with the last place team most likely to win a higher spot, and first place teams likely to end up lower). The 3rd and 4th rounds follow a "ladder" system ordered by Season 2 standings. So, without further ado, the draft lottery results!

Congratulations to the Seattle Guardians for winning the right to draft the First Overall pick. After the draft, each team will have a guaranteed 8 players (4 retained veterans, 4 draft picks). All remaining players will become Unrestricted Free Agents and may signed by any team on a first-come, first-serve basis. GMs may also trade players and picks.
Stay tuned for our preview of the Anthro Challenge Cup and scheduling for the draft. If you have any questions or opinons, we'd love to hear 'em!
DEADLINE FOR RESERVING PLAYERS
Just a brief update this time. Like last season, this season each GM may choose 4 players on their current roster to "protect" from being drafted. All other players will enter the draft pool with rookies.
This participation is very important for general managers. Please get your choices in before the deadline. It is a hard deadline, and those who don't participate will lose all their players to the draft. Also, you may be removed as a GM as well. We don't want to lose ya though!!
The deadline is Friday, July 26th at 5 PM (EST)
There are two ways to lock in your 4 players
A) Like last year, go to the "Season 3 Master Sheet" and highlight the names of the 4 players in your team's tab.
B) Send the FHL a note with the names of your 4 players. To avoid confusion, send it to this FA account, and not any individual commissioner.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! More info soon!
