No one ever said that racing at Pocono is boring. And not only did the FURCAR drivers have to take on the sharp angles of the track’s three corners, but they had to dodge Mother Nature, who tried to rain out qualifying. However, no one’s ever said that the FURCAR drivers don’t know how to hustle when it’s most needed. As soon as the track crews dried off the racing surface, the first qualifier was roaring out of the pits and onto the track to take her lap. In her eagerness to get going, Tigris set a tight time to challenge the other drivers. However, by the end of qualifying, six teams had managed to climb above her on the timing charts, with Ice road lion taking and holding onto the pole until the end, Dart Wuffy taking the second position next to him on the front row.

Unfortunately, Ice road lion’s great start to the weekend wouldn’t last much beyond the drop of the green flag as his rear end left itself on the starting line, sending the entire field scrambling to avoid the fluids left on the front stretch before he was able to get out of the racing groove. Several cars came onto the pits for the caution, mostly to top off their gas tanks, and then the race was underway again, Dart Wuffy leading the field down the front stretch!

Lap after lap, current season champion Belic Bear, Croco, and Jackie Rae stuck together, creating a gantlet of pain for the rest of the field to either just follow behind or curse in frustration as their patience was sorely tested as they tried to wait for an opening to pass the trio. The brave and the bold by the names of Eric and Shockey Rai were able to survive their trial, Eric breaking past and Shockey Rai adding to the “problem” by getting stuck in their midst. He hoped beyond all hope of getting past Belic, but, even after green flag pit stops, found himself still stuck behind the bruin. Cheesebeagle, likewise, by the last pit stop was able to insert himself into the group ahead of Croco Chilton. However, K’gra, Slidewolf, and Mark were not so lucky.

Rookie Harry brought out the final caution with nineteen laps left to go, only the second car to be sent off the track for the entire race. With a risky decision by his crew chief and a fast pit stop by his crew, Duroc managed to get out of the pits ahead of everyone, taking the lead on the last restart of the race. Dart Wuffy gave the hog a race for his money, taking the lead for two laps only to lose the lead with three to go.

Thus when the checkered flag waved over the drivers, Duroc Hog crossed in first with Dart Wuffy still on his tail, and Eric not far behind him. Belic Bear finished in fourth, then Shockey Rai. Jackie Rae, Tigris, Cheesebeagle, Croco, and K’gra rounded out the top-10.

Belic managed to hold onto the season points lead, but Shockey Rai moved up two spots into second. Duroc’s win catapulted him from ninth into third. Jackie Rae improved one position. Raz Yoshi fell two places but stayed in the top-5.
