Fading Away by sand9798

This journal type is never fun to write. The thought of leaving a public note seemed polite.

After months of looking for something new and "clean" only to see the search results become more and more sexualized, having a reason for staying active here is fading as that has increased. Even though the place as a functional site worked well. sigh Sometimes what is labeled "Safe" seems far from it.

I might drop in occasionally for people I follow yet. So I will sort through the list since there are users that haven't done anything in ages, I may add some people too.

I'll just move to a blog since options are limited.

Best of luck to you. :)

I hope you one day find the environment you want—which probably isn’t easy on the internet. :)

Thanks, the blog has been kept in the corner as a backup choice all along. This place was alright, at least better then the DA experience.

        You’re welcome! :)

At least you had a better experience here, it could’ve been much worse.

        Take care! :D

Please let us know where you go! I will miss your artwork.

Thanks for following when I posted here, I'll let you know.

Sorry to see you go! Please let us know where to find your blog (via private message, if you like). :)

    • Link

Sure, I'll do that in a bit.

Ah, that's too bad. Sorry to see you go.

Thanks, I still plan to pop in at least.

Perhaps send in an Email to Weasyl about your thoughts on the artwork you are troubled by being in the sfw category.
Honestly, I don't think 'fetish' artwork should be in a sfw category. Same with Gore art (and I'm a gore artist). I really
miss when Weasyl had four Sorting Categories. Atcually I wouldn't mind if weasyl had a multi category selector for
gore, fetish art, nudity, and sexual themed art to distinguish them all from the SFW category. Me thinks ima write a
    email myself

All I can do at the moment is use the Tag Filter, but new people on here have trouble adjusting to a site that ues a filter
feature and don't tag their work as much as they could.

I never knew they had that feature, that was a downgrade removing it.

This scenario can happen as well: Your on a public pc (if a person landed on economic woes) at the Library, and after logging in "that" pops up on the front page for all to see.

I think that is a good idea, because submitting is straight forward 1 extra step would not be a hurdle.

TuT it really was. I miss it so so very much. Although I suggested something a little more different that I think might be better.

(Using DeviantARt and Inkbunny as a guide)

Does this contain Mature Content: ● Yes / ○ No

        ☑ Gore
        ☐ Fetish
        ☐ Other
        ☐ Nudity

        ☐ Sexual
        ● Moderate ○ Explicit

^ Then people would be able to even pick out what they do or don't wanna see even further? (DA doesn't do that extra type of filtering, but should, but Inkbunny does that and it works quite nicely). Although I don't know how their rating guideline would go from there, I'd feel more comfortable browsing this way, and it would get fetish & gore related art out of the SFW category. Plus it's rather up front on for if something has multiple themes like Gore+Nudity. (Ah, I think the only thing I have trouble with on what I wrote is the "Nudity" one because generally Nudity is Moderate across all platforms. I guess that one would be for how much you feel comfortable posting? It'd probably be accompanied by nudity+Sexual if folks be posting it in Explicit. Guess it can work.)

Yo, I know the pain. Ain't nothing like some rando giving you a funny look because suddenly a "SFW" fetish shows up on your screen. Or the fear of it. What if someone asks you or accuses you of looking up weird cartoon porn in public?

    even with sfw turned on?

    • Link

Even then it wasn't enough, over time it became annoying. You essentially see what others are into and realize the site and me are pulling away.

      • Link

do you use the block feature to block and mute the users you don't want to see? whenever i see stuff i don't favor, i just block them and they disappear from the main pile and all the favorites of others. i use it to clean up the entire experience. makes it a lot easier.
