Captain Marvel - movie review by JohnStripedfur

To be honest, I don't know much about the character Captain Marvel. Much less any version. Especially the Carol Danvers one. But, I know enough to see that she's a great character and deserve more recognition. So, when they announce a Captain Marvel movie, I was already on board because 1) I have huge confidence that any movie they make from any other character will be good and 2) I always like to see how they will bring her into the MCU.

The movie itself was very much enjoyable. I love the action scenes, the special effects, and the CGI. I thought Brie Larson did a decent job as Carol Danvers and her becoming Captain Marvel is pretty well done. I was a bit lost at first when the movie started and along the way I thought the pacing threw me off on trying to tell us who Carol Danvers is. I know they're doing the amnesia angle and we're seeing how she sees when she tries to piece together on who she was and what she is. I think it could've been done more better, but I can see what they were trying to do. I did like the twists they put in the movie. I like being surprised.

Overall, a very good origin story superhero movie. Along the lines as Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, Dr. Strange, The Incredible Hulk, and Ant-Man. Right now, the only great origin story movie from the MUC so far is Iron Man. I say Captain Marvel is the top 5 on that scale. I wonder how she'll do at Endgame now that we're introduced to her.
