Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse - movie review by JohnStripedfur

For a few years, many die hard comic book nerds had been championing a Miles Morales Spider-Man movie. And now here it is. I'm not exactly a fan of Miles Morales. Hadn't read a single comic book of the guy. To me, there's only one Spider-Man and that's Peter Parker. But, after hearing about him for quite sometime. I was up to see him, but only as an animated series. Because the general audience is not too familiar with the character and I think a animated series would introduce him to the audience and then build him for a full length picture. And so, here we are. A movie many die hard comic book fans had been waiting for. Though, it is made by the Sony Pictures Animation. A studio that has a very poor record of animated movies and the last one they made was The Emoji Movie last year. So, I went with little expectation, but hoping it would blow me away.

And it did. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I think this is one of the best animated and best comic book movies out there. You don't have to be a Spider-Man fan to get the references of the characters they introduced or even a die-hard comic book fan either. This movie is for the general audience. If you weren't a Spider-Man fan before, this one will get you to become one. Also, I think Miles Morales has become a bone fide Spider-Man. At least one version that will get a bigger following. And the animation was spectacular. I love the style they put into this film. It's like a graphic novel came to life in animation form. It was amazing to watch. Though, there were a few parts where it got blurry. Probably because they were meant to be in 3-D. I saw in regular. Anyways, the animation was one of the best I've seen.

Overall, you don't have to be a die-hard Spider-Man fan or even a regular comic book fan to enjoy this movie. It's a blast to watch. Highly recommended.
