Hey guys! I hope everyone survived their Monday!

I also hope everyone enjoyed the art I was able to complete this weekend. I had a very relaxing weekend working on them, that's for sure!

Now, I've had to do some altering of previous plans as far as art goes, but not by a lot.

The main thing is when exactly I'll be opening for commissions. I'd like that to be sooner than later, but I've got some things I need to finish before I'd like to open again. Mainly because I plan on taking commissions much more seriously than I have in the past (i.e., quicker turn around, opening for more slots, etc.) so I'm trying to make absolutely sure I'm ready to go before I give the green light.

That being said, I'm thinking I'll be pushing back my estimated opening time frame to be July. There's a few reasons for this and I'll explain below.

First, I've still got quite a bit of my personal art I'd like to get completed and out of the way before I open, and I was able to complete 6 out of 28 pieces this weekend. That leaves 22 and if I'm able to complete that many each weekend then it'll be a little more than 3 weekends for me to finish.

Second, I'll be going out of town in a month for a long weekend, and the weekend before and/or maybe Memorial Day weekend I'll in all likelihood be taking another trip to Dallas to do some shopping before we go on out vacation. More on that later, but that's going to be time I won't be working on art.

Third, I've got Mother's Day and Father's Day coming up that I plan on getting art at least started for if not finished in time for those days. Gifts for family pretty much. Two pieces at least to work on for Mother's Day this coming weekend. Not to mention I've got three more characters to get on paper and preparing to debut alongside the others I've got pending color. So I plan to use this coming weekend to get at least 5 more sketches to get out of the way.

Fourth, I've still got to work on doing some minor editing to my Commission Terms of Service and I've got to nail down my prices. Figuring out my prices will include some work, and the creation of another piece of art since I'm going to time my process to get a feel for something of an average on how much time it takes me to complete each step that goes into creating my art.

Fifth, I've got to take inventory on my markers, I've got a few that are running out of steam and I'll need to have them replaced before I can safely open for commissions. I don't want to hold up anyone because I've had to stop and order markers. Some I can snag at Hobby Lobby up the road, but they only have a small handful of the colors I've got (244 I believe).

Finally, I've got a handful of business related (Commission status/info submission & I think a Twitter ad) pieces that I need to complete in the next month. Obviously the Commission status pieces I need to complete before I open because that's their purpose is to help advertise.

Speaking of advertising I'm also planning on buying ad space on FurAffinity to help promote commissions. This means I'll be putting in at least a little time preparing and tweaking an ad.

Also note that I will be making steps to start on more art of an adult nature soon. I've got ideas for Todd and Aubrey to get them introduced more properly, as well as some ideas for both couples, Tala & Nash and Nathan & Alix for any fans of those four. I think some of these ideas will be fun and help break the ice so to speak as well as offer up some examples for anyone interested in commissioning any adult art from me in the future.

I may not have any examples in time for when I plan to open this year, but I hope to have something to show long before the end of the year.

So, all that being said, expect some new sketches next weekend, more completed art to follow, and within the next month or two more information on commissions for those interested.

TL;DR: I'm gonna be busy here in the next two months, expect plenty more art, and commissions will probably more likely be open around July. I'll know for sure here in the next couple weeks.
