I flit or drift from one interest to another, from science fiction and fantasy, toy dragons and sewn plushies, kaiju suits and video games, protective relaying and battery tubes, world building and roleplaying games. The interest and passion flare up, but fade away to nothing after a period of a few months to a year as everything shifts around.

The consequences of this range from Zinogre turning into a series of death marches to my tendency to end up with an interchangeable parade of acquaintances as versus friends. World building by the seat of my pants results in jargon-encrusted piles of inconsistencies. My workflow is a tangled mess at best, the time for making the most of Clip Studio and other software I actually own is long overdue. I fall down when it comes to following through, then have the gall to envy other folks and their projects.

Work is just that thing I do for eight hours a day when it's there, so I have a check every other week to keep me in granola and video games. Overtime? Pah! I'd rather chew my own leg off. Never enough motivation to truly excel, minimal desire to learn the names of coworkers, and a dreadful habit of boring people to death when discussing my hobbies. These behaviors will leave me as damaged goods with useless credentials and nothing but gig work along with an utter loss of independence since gig work just doesn't pay enough to live on.

This can't continue. I must focus, plan, and maintain note card stacks, live in the real world treat work as something more than a way of funding my hobbies, figure out how to care about that "football" thing, and put more elbow grease into my relationships. Acknowledging that I have an issue is one thing, proposing solutions is another, and making fundamental behavioral and personality changes is something else. This isn't something I can blow off, I'm doomed if I don't try to fix this.

General Note:
Expect marginal progress until moving is done (mid-December). In addition, time will be shared with PE exam prep and the continuing job hunt.

Art Status:
Spaceport Vaporwave - flat color and background complete, probably the penultimate work utilizing the old workflow.
Ameroth/Phenod/Ember giftart - no progress on inking, will be used to test new workflow.

Project Status:
Lord Murazoa - Basic Design Complete (Revision 5B, now a more sane size, on standby)
Duke Viktor - Basic Design Initial Color & Markings (Initial in progress, likely the last use of the old workflow)
Stardust Dreams Rebuild Project - Not started, will clear deck of other subjects first.
Suits - Awaiting happier and more stable times, aside from the minor finishing work on Zinogre.

Commissions:
TBD. Probably plushies as versus art this time. Have to keep that sewing machine running, will occur when I'm not studying to take the professional engineering exam.
The Hydralisks are still for sale. Just send me a note.

Con Status:
Ohayocon (Columbus, OH) January 11th-13th - Room Reserved, Registered, Minivan not yet reserved
ConCoction (Aurora, OH) March 1st-3rd - Awaiting Room Block, will check with hotel next week, Minivan not yet reserved

I wonder what's the percentage of North Americans in their 30s who can say they do love their job and they are doing it not just for the money. Sometimes, as you climb the ranks in a company during your career, you can get to a certain point/position that it makes your daily routine at work kind of bearable.

But don't take my word for it. I'm the king of procrastinators. Whatever you do, I'll cheer from my side of Canada here. You are still young, don't stress it out. As long as you do have free time for your hobbies, you probably should be in the "happy" zone, in my book, at least. ;E

G-Fest? Any Jira fans going there? Seen any Jira cosplay? Also, it seems a bit close to Expy's area. :D

Hydralisk? What are the price ranges? I'm curious. >'===='>

It's getting off the bottom rung that seems to pose a problem for me.

Didn't see any last time. Expy is about halfway there.

$300. I'm tempted to extend free shipping to all of North America if I can get the vacuum-packing worked out.

... or can I just have the life size air filled hydralisk instead? That would be a total blast at the beach. <'===='<

If only, if only. I do have public runs of bipedal and quadrupedal large toys planned if I ever have stable income again, Lord Murazoa is ready for Ammy to render and perform final tweaks on, Duke Viktor's draft art is done.
