The Crimes of Grindlewad - movie review by JohnStripedfur

I'm not exactly a big fan of Harry Potter, but I have seen all of the movies and own all of them, too. Though, I've only read a couple of the books. I should read them all. Someday I'm going to have to. When I went to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, I didn't know what to expect, but was hoping it'll have the main character and his friends try to catch a lot of the magical creatures. The movie did that, but add another story I thought wasn't needed. And now, we have this movie, Crimes of Grindlewad. A direct sequel to Fantastic Beasts. I've never read any of the books the movies were based off of, so I had no idea just how much each of the movies were in them. I thought Fantastic Beasts was an ok fantasy movie set in 1920s USA. Just need to show more of the fantastic beasts and less of the other story. And now with Crimes of Grndlewad, we shall see how that'll pull out.

The movie itself was ok as well. It was enjoyable for sure. Especially with all of the magical scenes, but the story itself was really hard to follow. The acting and directing was really good, but the story needed to be fixed a bit. I think the problem was it was written like it's a novel and not a movie. A novel can explain it with great detail, while a movie cannot. Which is why I'm saying that this movie confused me a bit while watching it. I think you have to be an extremely die hard Harry Potter fan in order to follow it more closely.

Overall, if you're just a movie goer, you wouldn't like this movie much. If you're a die hard Harry Potter fan, you will like this movie a lot.
