The Nutcracker & The Four Realms - movie review by JohnStripedfur

I've always been an admirer to the story of The Nutcracker. I've seen the ballet, various movie versions, and even listen to the music when it's Christmas season. Hell, I still watch The Care Bears Nutcracker Suite every year. When I can. So, when I saw this coming out. I wanted to go see it to see what additions they made to the lore. Though, everytime I see the commercials and trailers of this movie, I keep getting this Time Burton's Alice in Wonderland vibe. And if anyone has seen that movie, you know what I'm taking about.

After watching this movie, I was right. It's almost like Tim Burton's Alice movies. It's pretty much a typical chosen hero coming into a world and he or she has to save it from some evil. And just like Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland isn't what the story is about, neither is The Nutcracker. I know they are tying a new thing for this, but it just doesn't work out. If the movie follows the story exactly, the movie would've been much better. And also release it during the month of December instead of the weekend straight after Halloween.

Overall, this movie would be just another forgetful family fantasy movie. If you're a fan of The Nutcracker story, you wouldn't enjoy this movie much.
