CLOSE OF EXP SPENDING

WORLDWIDE- With the close of EXP Spending on August 8, 2018, all EXP Spending for players were submitted for Season 6. All points were submitted by either the players, the General Managers (GM), or were allocated by the Commissioners in accordance with the League Guidelines.

EXPANSION DRAFT AND PROTECTION PERIOD

WORLDWIDE- With the completion of EXP Spending, Season 6 has officially concluded. The Commissioners and GMs are turning their focus to preparing for Season 7.

With the opening of Season 7, The Furry Hockey League would like to welcome two new teams to the league for Season 7, the Portland Pumas and Memphis Blue Kings. As they are the first expansion teams since Season 2, the Commissioners have been evaluating the previous draft and retention policies, and have come to a unanimous conclusion on how best to address player retention numbers, the expansion draft, and the upcoming regular season draft.

During the Protection Period, the 16 current teams within the league will be selecting a group of players to protect from the Expansion Draft. Teams can choose to protect a group of players base one one of two options. A team may choose to protect any three (3) players they wish or any number of players who have a combined total Career Growth Points (CGP) of 125 or less. Player lists for each team, with their corresponding CGP are available below.

Protection lists can be submitted to the form below, or can be sent to the FHL via email or FurAffinity notes or directly to commissioners. Teams have until September 1st to submit protection lists, and any players remaining will be available for the Expansion Draft.

At the conclusion of the retention period, any players not selected for protection will be entered into the Expansion Draft list, which will be utilized for the Expansion Draft on September 2, 2018.

The Expansion Draft will consist of a 4 Round selection process, where the Memphis Blue Kings and the Portland Pumas will select one (1) player each round from the Draft List. Each selection must be one (1) player from a different team. Once a player has been selected from a team, that team cannot be selected from again.

Once the Expansion Draft is completed, the League will begin the Retention Period for the standard Season 7 Draft, scheduled to begin on or around September 15, 2018. More information on the Retention Period and the Draft will be available at the close of the Expansion Draft.

CHANGE OF GM

SEATTLE- Due to inactivity, the Commissioners have unanimously voted to replace the current GM of the Seattle Guardians. Charles Ferret (Dragon287) will be assuming the role of GM as of August 18, 2018. The previous GM, AJ, will be assuming the role of Team Owner, with the option of returning to the role of GM.
