They’re gonna showcase my fanart, not that you didn’t see it already.

I don’t know if I’ll be there, Gigantic dying hurts me.

arent there ways to play the game offline or is it an online only game? and what do you think the odds are of someone hosting a private server for the game? fans can keep games alive in small ways

Likely no, Blizzard and many other corps when they want something dead they keep it dead by refusing to let any private servers exist. Their cleaning house, full. Wont take much for someone to update a system to make a once playable game dead and unusable.

Xbox's been creating kill switches for in game discs, deciding which ones to keep while making you pay to download "Deluxe digital versions". Skyrim is a classic example: Xbox shut down backwards compt for X1 for skyrim and many other best sellers because they want you to play the newer stuff the developers made to rake in more money. Game corps have become super greedy and don't care about old classics.

Even if some fans founded a server they would be destroyed by lawsuit after lawsuit. But the best thing about dead, is that it means dead for good.

tons of MMOs have private servers running, some are pretty big as well. if you want to play older versions of WoW without a subscription you can totally find a private server for that. its just a matter of demand and Im just wondering if demand for Gigantic is big enough for someone to put the effort in for it.

Since I never heard of such a game I think that says a lot about why it is dying. Wasn't going anywhere. I'm still waiting for Microsoft to die to they can sink down every series they made.

Course I stick to making my own things to play with, so I don't have to rely on a company they refuses to port copies or keep on server up.
