Rampage The movie from macros view by nh63879

Well today has been a great day for me. I met up with my fellow macro furry and Cornish furry StriderShire on FA and we went to see the new Rampage movie.

I'm not going to say a lot about it as I don't wish to spoil it for those who haven't seen it and want to, but I will say it has it's good points and bad points

In regards to the bad points my there are just one or two. One of them being the fact they didn't really show much in the way of how all three animals grew and mutated into what they become. Then of course the other key thing is there wasn't any showing of George or Ralph going into Chicago and the destruction caused, which is what I would liked to have seen. Instead all there is is just a overall shot of Chicago partially destroyed with buildings destroyed and smoke rising up from some buildings. With that in mind I would have like to see some form of destruction and real destructive rampaging like that in the 1998 Godzilla movie. I mean you probably know what I mean with scenes of people running around with a giant tearing up and crushing everything around them. Then of course a lot of the main scene in Chicago was basically focused more or less around the remains of a building that all three giants take down. For me I would have liked it if could have shown all three in different parts of the city. But saying that there is still some good destruction scenes as the gorilla and wolf are in the city fighting off the military.

On the other hand there are some very good points to this film. Firstly there are some very impressive scenes throughout the film of all three animals which I did like and got my heart racing. It's not as confusing as what I originally thought it would be and unlike the 2014 Godzilla movie, there was less of the scientific factor in this, which I mean a lot of the story focusing more on the whole science behind the causes of the mutations and how to stop it and so on. The film did feature George as being the star but not taking over and having more screen time than Ralph the wolf, who is my favorite, or Lizzie the lizard or what it is. There wasn't much in the way of over the top acting and mild swearing and rudeness, like giving someone the finger and using the word S*** more often than not. The start of the film was quite good as well and does give a hint of probably a sequel, which if like rampage world tours follow up universal tour would feature different rampaging animals like a rat and rhino with a crab or something. As for Ralph the wolf, who is my favorite, I found him to be less bad as I feared. Size wise he was around the same in the end as the others and did have some unique look and features to him, apart from the webbed sides which allow him to glide or "fly" in the movie, like the spikes running across his body like a porcupine that were used to good effect. And of course he did have a few close ups in the film which I found to be incredible. I'm of course not a big fan of George the gorilla in this or Lizzie the gator, I think in this. But when they did show the gator there was some good amount of crushing and destruction from it.

So anyways that's what I have to say about the film. Personally I would have liked to see some more destruction and rampaging but apart from that it's actually a good film in a way. Sadly it's not as epic as Zootopia though, but this is one of those films that is worth seeing and of course when it comes out on DVD and Blue Ray, there's sure to be things like deleted scenes and more detail and the like about it that should prove interesting to see. On a scale of 1 - 10, 1 for "don't bother" and 10 for "A must see film and one to go watch again".

Overall I'd probably give it an 8.5 out 10 or "Good" and it is something that's probably worth seeing.

And if you have seen the film then do let me know what you think of it as I'd like to hear what others think of it. I can say it has given me some ideas of possible macro pics now, mainly ones of my feral macro wolf. Anyway until next time take care of yourselves.

Nah probably not. Still overall they didn't do too badly with this. Could have been a bit better with some things but overall it was a good film and worth going to see.
