Starting from today (with one commission grandfathered in), 50% of the money I make from commissions will go to charity.

I figure that there might be a couple questions about this, so I'll answer a couple now, but feel free to leave more in the comments!

Why are you doing this?

I don't live off of commission money. I'm not a professional artist in the sense that I need to do this to put food on my table. Because of that, I feel that rather than spending all of it on myself, the right thing to do is to give some of it to people who need it more than I do.

What charities are you going to give money to?

I'm largely going to be going off of the list on Givewell.org, as their methodology for assessing effectiveness seems to be fairly good.

For a more specific answer to this question, I'll publish a report every two months saying where the money went.

How long will you be doing this for?

Indefinitely, until I state otherwise.
