Car Accident - Availability To Attend ANE In Jeopardy by Cyan Glaciertooth

Early Saturday morning, at around 1:30AM, I got into a horrific car crash on Route 9 East in Shrewsbury. The last memory I had before the crash was being in Shrewsbury going down Route 9. I was still in my car when I regained consciousness. I discovered my driver side airbag deployed and the left side of my windshield cracked. I was able to bust out of my car, and saw how totaled the car was. The whole left side was smashed. I was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. They did two CAT Scans, two X-rays, an EKG, and an Ultrasound. After the results were in, it turns out, I wound up with a fractured spine, and it may take three weeks to fully recover. Getting up to sit up or stand up, or getting down to sit down or lay down had been painful. I also can't walk really fast. This all being said, I'm gradually recovering.

What will this mean for the near future for me? Anthro New England will take place less than two weeks from now. I'm uncertain how much I would recover from my injury by then. If I do get to go, however, I may choose not to stay for too long. As much as I would love to attend for the whole weekend, and would hate to miss out, my health comes first.

That's all the information I have at the moment. This has been a very devastating event. I am very grateful, however, I am still alive, and even more grateful, I have no other major injuries. I am strong and willing to get through this recovery as quickly and as best as I can.
