For the first time in many years, we of south Georgia are experiencing an ice storm. It's the first time we've experienced anything like this since December, 1989, when we has several inches of snow just before Christmas. My place of employment told us to not come in today and I'm glad they did. My car is covered in ice along with our pecan tree, orange tree and numerous oak trees are all covered with ice as well. We of south Georgia aren't used to snow so you can imagine an ice storm's effect on us. Fortunately, though, there isn't any ice on the ground other than on the blades of grass, even the puddles from the rain aren't frozen over. I'm going to, hopefully, post a few photos of the iced over trees. I do hope that everyone out there is safe and warm.
