I don't know about adding, but you can disable allowing people to change/remove existing tags.

  Allowing or not, Weasyl should allow us to decide whether tags can be changed, added or removed rather than just letting it go through without my approval

I'm sorry to hear that you're leaving but we all have the same issue which I have no problem with, editing tags helps others to locate your art better than less tags. I hope to commission you some day because FurAffinity is a NO-GO for me.

I had my gallery erased by kid admins over copyright, even though this website's FULL of fan art itself.
