The Nerd Fandom loses another great one...... by keirajo

Woke up this morning to see this:

http://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/adam-west-straight-faced-star-of-tvs-batman-dies-at-88/ar-BBCrzPV

It's sad, but at least it sounds as if his death was peaceful.

No matter what most people may think of the 1966 "Batman" t.v. series...........it was a fun series and in this article, Adam West said it wasn't meant to be anything but fun. (Though if you watch the pilot episode, it's actually got a more serious tone than the overall t.v. series became.) This article had a lot of interesting little tidbits from West, as well as information about him.

I don't think anyone in this world could possibly think of Batman without thinking of Adam West at least once.

Rest in peace, Adam West.

    May good old Adam West, rest in peace.

    Also, he was TRULY the greatest actor, to have ever played Batman!

    In memory of Adam West, I shall try to watch the old 1960's Batman series. Hopefully I can find it, on Netflix or Hulu!

      I know one of our cable channels that shows retro t.v. (called MeTV) was showing it every Saturday night. I think they will probably schedule a marathon in memory of him.

        Good idea!

        I'm gonna try to find episodes, of the old 1960's live-action series, that he did.

      I watched with my mom in more recent years, being on a retro cable channel. It was kinda fun to rewatch all those things. It was amazing how gracious he was, he never let the fact that he was typecast get to him, as many actors do. He enjoyed the fans and conventions and the genre of comedy. That's important, to do what you love and find a way to love what you do. :)

    Family Guy won't be the same without him ;-;

      I kinda wonder about that, too.................because they'll have to get a new mayor, won't they? It really won't be the same................

    I never saw the Batman series, but I remember him on Fairly Odd Parents when I was a kid. Sad to hear about him passing :( Have to look into the show now.

      He did a lot of voice acting things over the years. In the MSN article, it mentioned he did the voice of Batman in several old animated series, like around the era of "Super Friends". The old Batman show is kinda corny, but it really is fun to watch. :)

        I like corny (most of the time) haha! If only I didn't have like 15 shows on my to-watch list xD

          It's just relaxing to watch a show like that sometimes. :)
